Hi all,

How can i find the current rates of US dollars to Mexican peso? The actual travel exchange rate that you would get in a foreign exchange, not on the market.

But that is not the real life rate?

For instance it says 1 gbp = 1.59381 USD, but the best rate I can find is 1.567

or

1.00 GBP = 20.7716 MXN

whereas the best I can find is 19.823

If thats the best you can find then thats the rate? Surely.

XE will be the market rate.

The rate you can find is the real life rate.

Take about 3% off of the XE rate and you won't be far wrong

When I was in Mexico (last month) they accepted 1USD as 10Peso (bit crap), in reality when I was withdrawing money out of the cash point it was more like 1USD to 13Peso.

A lot of places were doing 10 to the $ when I was there in Jan too, mainly shops etc, 12 was possible at some places

Seemed pretty standard when getting taxis and stuff.

That was both in Mexico City and Carmen.

In Mexico, up to 10 percent of the population may have the infection, neurocysticercosis.

If someone is infected the eggs are in their poo, and if they dont wash their hands after they poo and then make you a fajita or something you eat the eggs and get the brain worms too.

Because thats the 'being ripped off' rate which includes a profit margin for the seller

Take a decent credit card with no foreign spending fees and the XE rate is about what you'll get.
