Push to the lightning if you can, personally I'd steer clear of the stock coolers.

Natural Selection you'll be able to have decent FPS (I can play Max in Eyefinity with little lag), same with PS2 (though its more CPU dependant atm).

Thanks guys.

If anyone has played natural selection 2, I can play it on high texture setting with 60+ fps but it dips under 60 sometimes and that with shadows etc turned off. I heard the game is not properly optimized, is it my PC or the game, because I thought I should easily run this game.

My specs at top.

I'm still looking like I'll get the MSI HD 7970 OC 3072MB, good choice? I know I could get the 7950 but I want the power and at £300 for 7970 seems cheap.

Does it cause any significant problems under 60 fps? Because a 560Ti is a good card.

Yea it does tbh, I want 60fps for a First person shooter and I have all the extras turned off as well and it still dips.

It aint cheap at all considering it's barely faster than a 7950 in benches/reviews, but that's down largely to them using 7950's@800MHz, there isn't much reviews done with the boost bios.

Most 79's should do 1100MHz 'everyday' clocks, you can get higher but stability becomes an issue when you take gpu's to the edge of max performance.

If you want the power then pay £70 extra, but you won't notice the difference in game when they are both clocked.

On another note, the 7950 IceQ is quieter@load especially when clocked, if you get a low Asic 7970 OC=higher voltage, it sounds like a jumbo jet.

Hello, I was thinking of MSI HD 7970 OC 3072MB, which is £40 off ATM.

My specs:
2500k @ 4.4
8GB
GTX 560TI 2GB
650PSU
RES@ 1920x1080

I'm mainly looking to upgrade for plantside 2, natural selection 2 and future games.
I can play NS2 fairly smooth(60 fps+ with dips) but with bloom, shadows etc turned off ATM.

Thanks.

This is a good card and works well imo. Clocks OK as well.

Imo, the MSI OC is the best budget 7970. It isn't voltage locked and it tends to overclock well, and comes with a good warranty, etc. Some of the other cheaper 7970s are voltage locked.
