BMW e36 Touring (another lowmobile)

It always reminds me of the people at school who actively invited ridicule with their actions, playing up to the class loner etc.

I hate to think that my E61 that I got rid of recently could end up abused like this. Two owners down the line some scroat (benefiting from the brand new gear box I put in it) will probably put some massive/tiny wheels on it, lower/higher it etc., widen or narrow it etc. depending on whatever fad is in.

Didn't yours have one of the smaller engines in it? 523i iirc? Then it's a sure thing :(

I love the names of these members.

Twoblacklines
tenwierdufos

lolol.

OP. Your e36 actually looked nicer in Standard form.

Why did you get rid of the Civic EG?

EDIT: I'm surprised you chose the username here OP. I thought you were going to get rid of it judging by your MPH-UK.net post. ;)

Now you have me wondering who you are... i still use tenwierdufos in a lot of places, mainly ones where i dont actually know who people are!

Oh and, this civic? Yeahh, people are going to hate this, especially having VW wheels and twin carbs on a 1.3...

I think the white wall tyres are absolutely inspired. That must have gone through some tippex.

No tipex was harmed in the making of this car, although a lot of wood paint was.

Got it in one, i enjoy it, especially at shows, the way i look at it with some things is creating something someone else secretly likes but wouldnt actually make. Although to be fair its got a lot more abuse from this forum than anywhere else so far!

Maybe, although an e61 is way out of the price bracket of anyone brave enough to do it, and way to overcomplicated electronically for anyone else to bother touching. Dont they fall under the "steal by making your own key" catagory?

So you just lowered an old cheap low powered touring, and seem overly proud about it?

I like a nice touring, lowered and looking good, this isn't one that looks good though. The 'loon looks better worryingly!

I wouldnt say overly proud, i know what it is, and what it will hopefully become.
Its a built not bought mentality, sure its a 1.6 8v, but at the end of the day it owes me less than most peoples PC builds on here. To date (including buying the car and getting it through a new mot last month) it probably owes me £700.

Its cheap to own, cheap to fix and much nicer than an equivilent priced Saxo or Astra etc.

Its a work in progress.

The saloon at the end probably owed me a grand after engine swap and all, the original car costing £325 with a years mot. I did buy an entire 318is as a donor for that though, engine/box/diff/interior etc was all taken from it.

The saloon is a much nicer colour i think, when i bought the touring i originally thought it was black from the photos! Only found out on collection it was blue (ebay special) if i could afford such things i would love to have this one painted the same.

On the subject of ruining cars though. Here is what my old saloon looks like now, if you think i ruin cars, check out what life its current owner gives it.

that's why i said two owners from now (as in I sold it 6 months ago, in two owners time someone with a few hundred quid and a horrible plan will probably have their foul way with it)

I don't think the car in the OP is that bad but the one with yellow wheels looks terrible (to put it lightly). The new owner of that car looks to have only changed things after going drifting and probably smacking it into something, that's hardly the same as painting things in random colours - if he has just painted it then it's still pretty stupid. Each to their own.
