Hitman Absolution Teaser Trailer

The people who hate this game, what were they expecting it to be like? I haven't played it yet, I'm not allowed it until Christmas, but I watched the Giant Bomb quick look which was 75 minutes of gameplay, and I've seen some of the other gameplay vids on YouTube and it looks like classic Hitman level design, mixed with some modern day improvements in regards to the controls. I just get the impression that some of the people who have said it's rubbish have never played a Hitman game and were expecting something completely different.

Its looks like bloody Splinter Cell Conviction, that's why I'm so disappointed in it.

You can push people out of windows, it's primarily a stealth based game, you have the ability to mark targets and then execute them automatically. Those are pretty much the only similarities.

The beauty of the series has been that you can always play a mission the way you want to and that doesn't seem to have changed at all. From what I can gather there are still loads of ways to complete a level, the cover system is actually a much needed addition to the series as well imo, helps immensely with hiding instead of just awkwardly placing yourself behind an object and hoping nobody can see you.

My PS3 copy just landed on Sat along with the sniper challange DLC, and my 360 copy of Blood Money landed this morning. Going to be pretty busy for the next couple of days :D

but thats the problem - its IGN.

From what iv heard its nowhere near as good as BM , which was amazing. Still on the fence about this but will probably grab it given that its well priced.

I've played bloody money too many times now and that is probably why I'm bored of it. I loved contracts on the PS2 but steam doesn't have it :(.

I like the missions so far in absolutions but I haven't got that far yet due to Far Cry 3 and Tekkit.

Ok just had a go at this last night, did a few mins of the Sniper challange missions, great fun :)

The game itself, I love. I assume there is some mission were silent assassin will be impossible due to the fact that your not assassinating anyone, just trying to get away from the authorities, which is different, but I prefer the actual contract kills.

I played King of China Town over 15 or more times. Trying all the different assassination types. On one of my tries I managed to get a score of 149,000 Which got me the silent assassin rating for the first time . I was well pleased considering it gives the average score for GB and the rest of the world as 55,000 or so.

Later levels seem extremely hard (or I'm just totally out of practice), but again I was more dabbling with it. Will take it more serious tonight.
It dose compel you to replay each mission again as you really want the silent assassin Rating.
The Instinct mode is not bad, but it burns so fast when you are trying to get past similarly dressed foes.

I'm quite disappointed in the fact that you can not buy upgrade and carry over weapons to any of the levels in single player as you could do in previous games.

But all the pros out way any of cons, they are not game breakers in anyway, just things I think would have been nice to see. (*cough* patch to add weapons to replay single player missions *cough*)

What are your thoughts on this? I know its quite different from previous Hitman games, but personally I've never been happier to have Agent 47 back on the scene. Again I have only got as far as the 4th level but so far I'm loving it.

On Dexter's Industries at the moment, just came out of an evade guards section and into a massive expanse - the game showing off the engine :)

Loving the game though, but one thing that really annoys the hell out of me is when you unknowingly wander into a 'trespassing' area, with no real indication you were about to do so, and before you know it you've lost 1,600 points for being spotted and have to restart the checkpoint, as you couldn't turn away in time :( Though, that could be my poor reaction time :D

Can't fault it though, it really harks back to the other games and has so much going for it, that I haven't been able to put it down!

I still feel that they should bring out a patch (how hard can it be?) so that you can use any of the weapons you have collected along the way and use them in the single player when you select a level to replay, not just in contracts.

Would be sweet.

But as stated I just cant put this game down, Just finsished Chinese New year, I keep replaying the levels over and over again trying to perfect them (or get as close as perfect) before continuing on.

Managed to get a Silent assassin on the Hunt and Hunter level, was real happy with that considering how long it was. :D

Anyone know the best place to get free guides for this or best YouTube guide ? I am playing it on normal and on the big factory level dexters industries I think but I fancy doing all the missions more stealthy and get other achievements
