popped into town earlier to go to the cash point. as i got out of my car, i noticed a member of the public in a heated conversation with a traffic warden due to him being on the receiving end of a ticket. he was verbally insulting the traffic warden and clearly wasn't happy.

there seems to be a general feeling towards traffic wardens that they are a menace.

but why? they're just doing their job at the end of the day.

I think it cause they are so vigilant. The general public absolutely, myself included hate people who enforce the laws we think are retarded. I.e Getting caught parking for 1 minute. (I can understand if it's 1 hour, but 1 minute) I would love to see what the state of the roads where if they didn't exist, I don't think a fat lot would change.
Laws that are there to control rather than help aggravate me. I know we need them, but no one gets harmed if you have some discretion on the punishment.

You park where you shouldn't or forget to pay for a ticket and a traffic warden gives you a fine.

Fair game

They are only doing they're job. And traffic restrictions are "probably" there for a recent.

I risk it every now and then but If I get a ticket I suck it up.

Unless I'm a minute late in which case I'll proper kick off

In our town (pre parking restrictions and parking wardens) you couldn't park in town.

Now with the addition of the above I can always park.

Traffic Wardens may be a necessary evil, just as Tax collectors are, but to actually chose to be one you would need to have a borderline personality disorder and be some sort of sociopath

I love that they double park to do people for the same.

Alas I just annoy them, move the otherside of the street, then back across. Let them get a bit of the ticket done, move across again.. etc.

See if they get bored before whoever I'm waiting for gets into the car.

The nature of the job is to obviously restrict parking for good reason, but this inevitably means they will be douchebags to some people who have caused the world's most minor inconveniences

A victim of what they are employed to do.... I guess....?! Not quite sure how that works and backspace is too far away.

No such thing as a 1 minute ticket, they allow a 5 minute observation time.

For a town without wardens http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...affic-warden-ban-time-Jubilee-free-chaos.html

Don't park in a place you shouldn't and make sure you buy a ticket and your be fine.

I have seen a warden give a man a ticket who parked dropping off a package as I went by down a long road. Must have been 1 minutes or less it was the most douchey thing ever, if he left his hazards on he would have been fine.

The only site that they can issue a direct ticket with no observation is if the road is sign posted "no stopping at anytime" which quite clearly means no stopping at all. Double and single yellow lines require an observation time of 5 minutes.

Parking Wardens are just doing their job so I don't have a thing against them, even though I have been on the recieving end of a ticket I should have noticed the parking restriction for that day (olympic torch route through Lewes).
