Audi owners in here!

Can't say that mine vibrates anything other than the gear stick. Certainly not that I've noticed anyway. That said, mine has done < 200 miles so far, so things might loosen up.

Mines now 2 months or so old now and after 5k miles im happy that I chose this over a 3 series. Its solid and seems to be better put together than my colleagues F30.

That said, there are few annoyances, mainly the electronic handbrake and I detest the start stop system with a passion. I love the new LED DRLS and the techpack high was well worth the outlay.

The ride is also good, and it handles well enough, i guess thats probably down to the 17"s having a larger sidewall. Downside is the completly devoid steering feel.

Para, have you actually bought that or is it a company chariot?

Yes, it just doesnt fit with how im used to driving, plus i think mine may be faulty, its failed to restart the car twice, and when it has, it flashed up a steering error, that said, I did snatch at the clutch.

That said, dynamically they are poor, but its nice looking and feeling car, and the spec list is pretty respectable for a base spec motor. I'd probably buy an A6,5 series or E class if were my own money, the isnt that much better than my last Accord.

Oh and on the topic of Ipod connectivity, and the FL A4 you need the ipod cable with the red collar to enable the artwork and Ipod video to work. Its works well on 4g onwards ipods. Artwork also works via SD cards too, just no id3 track navigation. I also discovered with tech pack high it will play DVDs and video on the SD cards.

When I rented one over the summer, I stalled it quite a few times, and when I did it came up with a steering error. Might be related?

Totally agree withnyounregarding the electronic handbrake. Absolute pain the in arse!
Auto ones are fine, but manual electronic ones, I just don't see the point!

Erm, the electronic handbrake in the A4 (and my old A6 for that matter), is automatic. So long as you have your seatbelt on, it will automatically disengage when setting off (manual or automatic transmission). I love the electronic handbrake.

Yes you can turn start/stop off, there is a button on the dash for that.

There are also known problems with the electronic power steering and low revs/high strain, so it's not uncommon for the PAS to throw up errors (although mine never has).

This is what I can't stand about the 4 cylinder diesels either. They all do it, even though many owners will swear blind they don't and it's as smooth as a V12 inside or something.

The 6 pots are generally much much better in this regard.

To be fair the 2.2 diesel in my dads xf which does a load of miles is no where near as bad as what I experienced last night. Probably due to the fact that the gear selector is a nice aluminium twisty dial and obviously auto.

Not sure how merc/BMW compare?

Been a busy weekend...actually a bit crazy. :p

We were spotted in Leeds by these car fanatics, literally chasing us on foot round the city centre. Surreal experience. :o

Photoshoot I did on saturday morning. :)

Blackhawk: How bad is the condensation in the A1 in the mornings of late? Me and the GF have to wait a while for it to clear. Wondering if it's the norm with this car of if i would worry about water inside...

I have this issue a lot, as do many on the forums. It even happened in the summer when it wasn't cold.

What I do is get in car, close door, set temp controls to max heat, put the blower fan on the front window only and just idle for a little, should clear up after a 10 seconds or so. Do not open any of the windows or bother trying to wipe them just let the car do its thing....of course turn the AC on (I leave mine on all the time regardless). :)

Also, after nearly a year of having my A1, I got MMI to work properly at 3am last night. :p

Congrats but shame about the choice of music!

Don't worry about that I have a bit of everything lol, from spandu ballet to beardyman haha.

Well I was bored so decided to restructure and add/remove more music. Before I had it like so:

SD Card/Folder (CD mix3 etc) then all songs in there just as a list.

Last night I did the following, manually: SD Card/Folder (iPod Music etc)/Artist (or any text you want), then obviously put the Taylor Swift songs in the appropriate folder. Didn't test it last night lol as it was raining so I literally just tried it out. Works really well.

Tracks copied direct from iTunes by just drag and drop.

This was another forum member, need to respond to him as I guess he has the same problem as you paradig? :)

Nice....Deluxe version too....great album.

I just get the track listings....all in one long list. Is it easy to get the full track name and the artwork like you've got in the picture?

Cheers,
Ian.

Just done a quick video for you.

Yeah, I assume it's the same problem.

I just decided to do a new SD card to test. Took the music I wanted out of iTunes. Converted it all to normalized MP3s using Audials One, then opened the converted tracks in Reezaa MP3 tag editor to ensure that all tags are ok and that all album art is intact and inserted correctly.

Still nada :(

You don't have to do any of that. Literally drag music from itunes straight to a folder on desktop and organise it there. :)

Don't go into the file structure to copy individual artists as I believe thats what I was doing all this time. The ID3 tags should be embedded and viewable on the computer/when sd card is plugged in. Though like I said I use iTunes for all my music, do you use the same?

Sorry, that makes little sense.

Copying from file system as opposed to iTunes should make no difference, but even assuming it did, I can't copy directly from iTunes as a lot of my music is from before the iTunes store was DRM free. Audials will strip the DRM from the M4P files and normalise all the volumes across all my tracks.

I can try directly from iTunes, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

FWIW iTunes doesn't manage my files and folders, I do it all manually.
