Posted something over a month ago with regards to 6xx price drops and people said possibility of around christmas?

Anything new/any rumours since then? :p

E: Typo in thread title. Sorry

Don't expect anything while they're happy with their margins... think they're selling a fair few cards even with AMDs superior price/performance ratio.

79 series, cheaper, faster, some custom cooled 7950's are cheaper than a single custom cooled 680's not to mention that they will slaughter it.

Sell the games on and it gets embarrassing tbh.:(

Sitting with 7970/50 CrossFireX that cost £510, that came with 2 copies of Sleeping Dogs, Hitman, FarCry 3, Dirt Showdown and Nexuiz, if I knew better at the time, I would have saved another £70 and went with 7950 CrossFire=£440 and got COD MW2 as well:( .

the 600 (non-Ti) is at an ok price atm
660Ti, 670, 680, kinda on the expensive side, but they will certainly perform well in any modern game

I'm personally waiting for the 660 to hit £150.
The prices have been gradually sliding down across the board since release, but nothing too major.

It could be worth waiting to see if any sales come up over the Christmas period.

It could also be worth waiting until the next generation comes out, some time next year, cos prices should drop then.

It all boils down to how badly you need the upgrade. If you really need a new gfx card to max out the settings on a new game that you are enjoying, then you might as well buy one now.
If you're doing ok with your current setup, might be worth waiting for a month or more.

amd cards may be slightly faster and cheaper but thats because they still save money by using trained chimps to do the drivers.
At the moment 8 have a pair of 5850's and cannot wait to get the pennies to go back green.

Got a GTX 660 myself for £145 delivered in a Black Friday flash sale. I was looking to get a 2GB 7850 but the 660 at that price sealed the deal.

January sales would be the next logical time that prices might drop a bit. Keep checking prices regularly though as you never know when a deal might come around.

What a bunch of *blip*. My 5850 ran so ffing perfect on whatever catalyst I threw at it and so does my 7950. While you may have been unlucky due to your specific setup, saying that the fault is purely AMDs driver team is IMHO very stupid.
