Another what car should I buy thread

I gathered it wasn't your car, why you thought it was a good example of the kind of Bora the op would want to consider is beyond me though.

Anyway, the OP clearly isn't interested in them so there is no point going over it.

Will you build no claims on that policy? If not then I'd suggest getting a banger and your own policy - long term the only way you'll reduce your premiums is by building no claims.

no i wont build any no claims but tbh its not worth me getting a car as insurance on my own name is over £4k+ easy and thats on a corsa 1.0 or something

on my brothers name as a 2nd driver its about £2.5k+ but that wont get me any no claims i think

this way im only paying £900 a year and that is what has made me want to buy a car now

looks good thanks! have heard that they arent that good a car though in terms of reliability but will ask around as it has a full service history and low mileage

Honda Civic is a good shout.

cheers :) ive been looking on ebay and auto trader and i can pick one up for less than 1.5k so i think it would be quite a good shout as id rather not spend all of my budget!

is the petrol or the diesel gonna be better for me? most of my driving is gonna be around town

The 1.6 Sport civic is quite a tidy little thing for your sort of money, it wont hit your economy targets but nothing much will. They're relatively keen feeling for a small petrol engine and at least look the part.

I wouldn't personally bother with the diesel, it's a very rough and ready unit and not particularly well suited to town driving. I doubt it would give you the sort of issues more modern diesel units would with your sort of driving but honda make nice little petrol engines, it'd be a shame to forgo that for the isuzu sourced diesel option.
