Hardest decision you have ever had to make?

Whether to take up a career at sea; training to become an engineering officer. In the long term I'll gain a career and set of skills that will prove lucrative, while the work itself is something that interests me and gives me an opportunity to see parts of the world from a pretty unique perspective.

The trade off comes from my my personal life, in that I don't know if I could find someone willing to put up with the long absences that the job entails.

I still don't know if I've made the right decision.
 
Wow. I have had no hard decisions to make. I thought I had before reading this thread, but "do I apply to IBM or not" just doesn't compare.

This. I had to decide over the phone as he was already on the table (in Ireland with my mum, me in Scotland) but they found lots of lumps inside him. Wanted to put it off so I could get a flight over and see him but that wouldn't have been fair.

Hope I never have to make that kind of decision again.
 
Well I have had a really good hard think and as yet (I am only 26) not had to make a really hard decision. Yeah sure its like ooo do I buy a pair of jeans or not but that's not hard I just look at my bank balance. :)
 
I think OP needs to contribute!

My hardest decision was to not sell my PS3 a few years ago.

Someone offered me £350 for it, which i thought was stupid to turn down, but i did, and at the time i really needed the money.

A second hard decision was which uni to go to - Manchester or Leeds :D

I'm a little confused, You started the thread so I assumed you had to make a difficult decision to make or have made?

I think all decisions are tough relative to their timing.. I've always been one that believe that to make no decision is worse than making the wrong one.
 
I'm 24 years through life and I haven't had to make a very hard decision yet. However I'm still young and I hope when I am faced with one, I will be strong enough to make the right decison whatever it may be.
