Hardest decision you have ever had to make?

I'm in the middle of a big decision at the moment.

My consultant has said I really need an operation to stop a low likelihood but life threatening problem from happening.
A possible side effect of the operation will mean I will no longer to be able to do my job as a Firefighter and also affect me in day to day life.

I have another 2 weeks to make my mind up and currently thinking to not have the operation.

Signing the consent papers for my son to have his brain op when he was 1 which he may not have made it (how nearly 3) :( had to sign the papers at Great Ormond Street as he suffers from arnold chiari malformation, but its has been the best thing to ever happen to me and my wife as he is coming on leaps and bounds since and only has to have an MRI every 6 months now.

Was very hard to sign the papers tho.

The work they do there is truely incredible. Glad to hear he is pulling through!:)

In the grand sceme of things I have never really had to make any hard decisions. Easy life <3

Must be difficult on ya.
I "think" I know what I would do.

That must be horrible mate, hope whatever you choose to do doesn't turn out to be the wrong one. If it was me I think I would be thinking along the lines that you as I think you actually love your job :)

Good luck fella.

having my daughter diagnosed with Anencephaly during pregnancy.

for anyone who doesn't know its a 100% fatal condition and in the vast majority of cases children are stillborn, those who do survive will die within a few hours of birth.

we were strongly advised to have a termination and although it went against everything both my wife and I believed in we ended up going down that road. even now 5 years on I still think about the what ifs and question whether we made the right choice

To tell my then wife, that i was in love with another women..

I stupidly got married in my early 20's.. That was my only regret and not leaving her sooner for the love I found.

I have had to tell some one their sister was dead, she had used a pipe, attached it on to the exhaust of her mini and you can guess the rest. I knew the family were looking for her and I had been told about 30 minutes earlier that she was dead. Her had landed on my door step asking if I knew where her sister was, she could probably tell by my face that I knew something. Probably one of the most memorable moments of my life, I will never forget it.

After looking it up, i think you made the right choice to be brutially honest

I am deadly serious about this but when I've had stock in the tin of custard creams AND rich tea biscuits...Oh. My God!

Can't have both because that's like an unwritten rule.
