Are these worth doing, was thinking about some of the computer courses. Would I be able to get a job after doing something in IT with either one or some of these courses

He might be dyslexic and even if he isn't, no one's perfect. How about actually helping the guy instead of augmenting a petty mistake?

If home learning is your only option then there's still quite a lot out there for you. It's best to look through things like the OU and see what takes your fancy.

I think it depends on what you're looking for in a course, and what you want to do IT wise when you're done, but in addition to getting the qualifications it can also be seen as admirable that you got off your arse to train/re-train to further your career prospects.

Did you have something specific in mind?
 
Not really, maybe more the hardware side of things but I'm not sure that has great job potential.
I Just want to be earning more with better prospects
 
I tried one with EdX basically it was the wrong course for me and quit after third week - currently looking for something thats a bit more 'me'

it would not have been so bad really but they decided to use Stata and its god awful
