Adverts at the ATM - the latest madness?

If it doesn't get in the way of me going about my business I don't really care i.e. if its playing in its own little box seperate to the ATM functionality. If I have to sit there for awhile and/or react to it before it will let me use the cash point as a cash point however its a step too far.

Going by what my friend said and the video posted in the link above it appears to want a response before your cash comes out. It doesn't actually say you have to but then it doesn't say you can ignore it.

However, even if it doesn't require it people are still going press it because that's the mentality with cash points - if you are asked a question you are going to respond when using an ATM

This really is getting ridiculous. Can we not get on with our everyday lives without having a product or service shoved in our face. Yes I know companies rely on advertising for increase in traffic and sales but they are taking it too far. Is there not enough with TV, Internet, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines, Billboards, Posters ect

No because we don't buy enough. Buy more rubbish and the adverts will go away...

Are you the type of person that turns carrier bags inside out as not to give Mr Sainbury free advertising too?

lol, ive had a person refuse a branded glass at a pub, he only drank the john smiths as it was the only thing we had that he didnt mind. However he didnt want ppl to know it was john smiths as he felt they didnt deserve his endorsement. I gave him a John Smiths glass and and continued to stare at him without saying a word like a crazy person until he left the bar area.

If I were using an ATM and an advert for milk that lasted 21 days popped up, it'd leave a very sour taste TBH.

I remember being asked if I wanted to enter Barclays premier league tickets draw as there was a pair of tickets to be won every 90 seconds or something. I just clicked "no" and.... hey presto my withdrawal was unaffected and I carried on with my day.

If they introduce more widespread ads on cashpoints then it's no biggie to just press "no". You've already got the thousands of other users' germs on your hands anyhow.
