very good single player games

Just completed Mark of the Ninja and now started on Deadlight. Never thought I'd enjoy sidescroller platform type games, but these are very good fun lots of really nice detail in the environments.

ninja edit :D

Sorry but Crysis looks like ass this day and age but I agree the gameplay is good

LA Noire - Detective / Adventure / Action type game, go around solving murders and stopping robbers / thieves etc

Hitman Absolution - Have to kill certain targets stealthy or all out guns blazing

Dragon Age Origins - RPG, Control I think 4/5 people

To a degree, Crysis does look outdated when you stop and stare at textures or look for issues here and there, but it still has some AMAZING vistas and tons of mods if you have the power that make it the best looking game out still. Besides, even vanilla, as long as you keep up with the action and play the game and concentrate on the gameplay (especially on hardest) the graphic flaws aren't too apparent and the environment looks awesome regardless.

Can't say anything about Noire but Absolution and Origins are definite +1's!

Black Mesa Source - It's a remake of the original Half Life with updated graphics. It's very well done and it's free.

btw, multiplier gaming doesn't eat that much bandwidth. Do some googling on it, I bet your surprised.

games like black ops and battlefeld 3 don't take much bandwith ??

If you're after some strategy to pause from the action give Civilization V a go :) Found a Civ and take it from pre-history right up to the near future!

Also the Total War series of games are completely engrossing! Nice balance of large scale management (similar to Civ) with some fantastically detailed RTS on the battlefield!
The bonus to this too is you can pick the game corresponding to your interests.
I'm a bit of a history buff personally so I have them all :P

Another large scale strategy game to concider is Crusader Kings 2. Diplomacy and intrigue (with some war mixed in). This is the game I'm most addicted to atm.

Have a look at those :D

Crusade king 2 sounds good

says crysis looks like ass, goes on to reccomend dragon age origins.

Dark Souls - Challenging RPG with great battle mechanics and nice diverse environments. Needs a mod to look good on PC though. It can be picked up for around 15 pound retail these days which comes with all the goodies like an artbook and poster.

I'm on a 15gb limit with my broadband and I play online for several hours each day. Online gaming alone will never use above 15gb, it's only videos/downloading which you have to be careful with. (I only download overnight, because I have 65gb limit during off-peak hours)

on-topic: If you have any source games get Black Mesa Source (Half Life 1 mod), then play Half Life 2 + Episodes. If you don't have a source game buy HL2 but play BMS first :P

Also for something a bit different play Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Horror fps/adventure/puzzle game, it's terrifying and brilliant.
