Boom! Goes my MSI 7970 3gb OC Lightning Edition!

I wonder what's going on with Msi!? I had to send back 2 7950 Msi twin frozr both for being way to hot an crashing and memory problems so stuck with my trusty 6850!
Hope they sort these problems or there branding will be effected badly.

I meant the Lightning over other GPU's in that 7970 list, but it does seem MSI are dropping the ball lately. I was going to purchase the MSI 660 OC for my new build, but i'm not so sure now, i'll probably go with KFA2 instead.

With regards to the lightning, i think it was just the cooler that i liked. And the price

positive it's not the power supply ? sounds like psu to me I've had it where psu wont boot a higher power card but boots a lower powered one just fine

It's not just the AMD 7900 series having problems, the Nvidia 660's, 670's are having similar problems as well, but some of their cards are the best price and performance in some of the ranges, so it's difficult to decide as to whether you take the risk or not.
