What the hell is going on with Youtube?

The ever-changing layouts does crash Greasemonkey constantly, but my annoyance with Youtube is traffic shaping. In 2007, I could stream 360p/480p no probs. Nowadays it can't even stream such low a bit rate half of the time. ISP fault more than Youtube though.

The biggest change lately seems to be how its become more about subscriptions and channels than how it was in the past.

On one hand I'm quite glad they've improved that, such as knowing when there are new videos from channels you subscribe to and marking that you have watched them.

What does seem to have changed are one of the ways I used to look for new videos to watch, which was by looking at the Most Viewed or Top Rated for the week. Perhaps they've binned that because they were all Minecraft and COD videos that were always in the most viewed. Now you have to click quite a few links for a 'Best of YouTube' generated list, which isn't quite the same.

I would imagine the move to channels is also to benefit themselves and content creators with more revenue, as they also this month introduced the retrospective application of the TruView advertising format to videos.

HOW DARE THEY CHANGE THE LOOK AND FEEL OF THE FREE SERVICE THEY PROVIDE!

:p

I actually like every change. I log in and see it's all different and I'm like Raymond Lin on Fruit Pastilles :D

Yep this last one is really awkward to navigate and I have been having problems withthe time slider

Another thing that annoys me is Google image search on a mobile!

Not sure if it's YouTube or SKY FTTC but lately anything I watch on YouTube gets the 'Loading' Icon flickering even when it's fully loaded and even more bizarre is every single thing gets cut off about 20secs before the end, but if I 'rewind' it slightly then it plays right through.

Yeah, I get that too, see above.

I'm on Talktalk.

What for Real?

They've been updating the Youtube site for the last god damn knows years...

Live with it, or find another site.
