*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

Hey everyone here im new to the forum, have been checking this forum the last few days to see whether any ordered from Zavvi. Heard bad things about them etc. But am relieved that i had mine dispatched yesterday with another email from dpd to say delivery will be on 29th today! I ordered the Zombie U wii u console and Ac3. Not expexting Ac3 till later. Seems like im in the same bost as Zhx wise guy. :)
 
Daft question, i assume these are downloaded games via Nintendo's E shop?
Would be awesome if there was some legal way we could backup our physical copies.
 
E Shop isn't available yet by the away as the release day patch still hasn't been released :(

Pad has a decent range, as I said I can use it upstairs in the main bedroom but that's in a new build with thin internal walls. I think in an old house with thick walls you'd struggle leaving the room the console is in. Up in my bedroom I'm about 17-18ft away (bedroom is close to the living room but above) and the controller limit is supposed to be about 20ft. If I go to the edge of my bedroom it starts to struggle (freezing/jumping)
 
That range is very impressive, I'm actually surprised it could do more than 6-8ft without stuttering as wireless can be so temperamental.

Both my copies of NintendoLand arrived! Dammit Shopto and your fail website! "Payment failed" - Send the game!

Plus the console is out for delivery but yet to my parents in Stoke, to torment me even more it was in the Birmingham hub this morning -.-

Any ways, can't wait to give ZombiU a bash as that is the main game I'm interesting in, as just a game as well not just for the WiiU features etc.

Hmmm, DPD sent an email to me yesterday evening saying it will be delivered today but I get a suspicion that Zavvi may have asked them to hold it from being sent as it just says 'Shipment details received, awaiting receipt of the parcel' for the Delivery Status.

Anyone else?

Certainly sounds like it's being held, this was my DPD record:

I have the same. It said it would be delivered today 29th so i just hope they live upto it. Have not been up since 7am for nothing lol.

Btw has anyone thought of Nintendo id names to have. Deciding on Herminator or Hermann Burger lol

You can't link Nintendo ID at the moment anyway, same issue as eShop etc with the launch day patch not available at the moment. If you haven't heard from DPD with a 1 hour delivery slot by now I wouldn't expect it today to be honest!
 
Any chance we could have a dedicated "Wii U delivery thread" so the rest of us don't have to trawl through the "being delivered tomorrow", "maybe 1pm", "possibly 12pm", "mine is shipped", pointless posts?

Seriously, it's just spamming the thread up :( No one really cares if, when, maybe deliveries possibly potentially might me made!

It will probably go live tomorrow! Don't say that lol i'm really hoping it will come today bit your probably right! Is it worth phoning DPD up? Or will i be waiting forever on hold.

Same here, i got a email confirming delivery for today but nothing has changed since yesterday.

Shamelessly lifted off "the net",not sure if posted,but bare this in mind folks,
After 60 minutes by default the Wii U Console is set to turn completely off. This can be a problem for those who are dont know about this feature. This can be turned off, or the time in which it takes before it turns off can be extended, by changing it in the "'System Settings".
Turning off the Auto Shut Off feature is recommended, as any unsaved game progress will be lost when the system auto shuts off.
Don't wish to read any horror stories on here where people have had problems,and ending up with bricked systems.

Just an update I got the same details as you I.e. Warrington shipment details received awaiting receipt of parcel. Basically the woman I spoke to on the phone said we have not yet received the parcel but we have obviously received data that the parcel is coming to us. She said you won't get it today but its highly likely you will get it tomorrow!

She also said that the 1 hour time slot emails are usually sent out between 8-10 am. So looks like were getting it tomorrow on launch day.

Slightly extreme scenario though if the machine is sitting there for 60mins unused? would have thought you're more likely to brick your system by turning this option off though. ie: Accidentally leaving it on while away for the weekend or something!?
 
Ordered mine from shopto yesterday afternoon and its just been delivered by DPD about five minutes ago. They're usually quick but that's just ridiculous.
