Virgin Media Discussion Thread

How do we find out if it's available for the super hub?

Nevermind got the answer "we'll be pushing R37 out from Midnight tonight to the users on these broadband packages:

S, S5, M, M20, M10, 100, XXL100"

No R37 yet for me. But i did get my letter from VM saying about putting up my bill by £5 ish (can't remember exact amount). Also had an update about the 120 role out saying my upgrade is pushed back from March 2013 to August 2013.

Not really an issue. Even if i grab a 5gb file takes 7 ish minutes. So never maxing the link for long enough to be a problem. Saving about 1 minute is nothing.

No Infinity for me either until an unknown month in 2013. So my choices are 100mbit virgin or 5mbit adsl

I'd choose 5mbit ADSL. At least you would be able to game with no latency issues and also watch Youtube. Get a cheap package as a second connection if you really need the download speed that Virgin will give you (in silent hours).

Things seem to be pretty good for me, just had the email about a £4.45 increase

Been on a staff deal via Dixons for 3 years now, will wait until after the price hike to see if the current staff deals are cheaper when i up the BB to 100 price range, else im not changing anything

Called up VM yesterday after discovering my internet has been running at 5mb instead of 60mb for about a week.

Turns out there is an over utilisation and problem won't be fixed until mid December or mid January.

They've offered me £10 off the bill. Last time they said that when I had a fault I got nothing off my bill. This time I will keep on ringing them.

If anyone else is on the CR8 or SM6 postcode area then you may be affected too

Had the double speed roll out in my area and got it last thursday :D though i was on the 20mb XL so i got tripled xD

om nom nom nom bandwidths!!!! tho only gone from 1.9mb to 2.9mb upload :( I hear they are limiting it to 3mb for now and going up to 6mb in future after more work is done..... still.... it's nice because i can actually stream in 1080/720p to twitch now :D

I don't have the latency problems and youtube problems people are getting. My area seems unaffected by the problems mentioned on here.

Sick of this 100Mbps connection being good for nothing.

Why is it unable to test packet loss?

Both wired to my router.

**** YOU VIRGIN!
