*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

Unless I was blind, the WiiU doesn't seem to have a RJ45 port which kinda sucks. I much prefer a wired connection, especially for things like firmware updates.

Yeah it's getting there, I'd say 80% through at the moment so I've picked up a bit speed.

Edit: This submarine sonor noise that the GamePad does whilst downloading and installing the update is extremely annoying :p

Kinda sounds like this... now imagine that on loop for about an hour.

Volume sliders on the top :p

I do really like the TV remote integration, so handy for sticking the telly back onto Sky whilst I play NSMBU on the Gamepad :)

turn console on and press reject or cancel to the update and play an hour of mario, go back to wii menu and the update is downloaded ready to install. Simple and this is what i'll do at midnight before going back to bed.

The update is approx 1Gb and uses 5Gb of space when decompressed.

is that of the available internal flash memory? So if you have an 8gig model you will be left with 3 gig?

Great!

if that is the case - two more updates and your machine will be useless.

Can anyone confirm?

Must be eprom/bios memory surely? ie: Not the flash memory used for user storage!?

Logic would say it doesn't touch the user's memory at all. ie: If you fill it up with your own data, you can't update it anymore? Really?

What the hell. You can't do 2 player co-op in Mario with the Pro pad?! You need a Wii remote. How retarded.

Ummm... It's one controller? What did you expected to do?

You can pick up controllers on auction sites for single digit pounds...
