*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

Must be eprom/bios memory surely? ie: Not the flash memory used for user storage!?

Logic would say it doesn't touch the user's memory at all. ie: If you fill it up with your own data, you can't update it anymore? Really?

Your logic is sadly wrong, 3GB of available space is confirmed by Nintendo.

I'm about about the Pro pad, not the GamePad. Duh.

Barely anything supports the pro controller at the moment.

I'm just about about confused then!?

You have the standard Gamepad (tablet) with your WiiU, and you're confused why you can't play two player with that single controller?

Jesus christ. The Pro Controller is the extra one you get with the zombiU deluxe edition. The controller that looks like the 360 pad.

I have 2 controllers. The GamePad and Pro Controller.

Are you with me now?! :p

Apparently it's because it doesn't have a motion sensor in built, thus meaning you can't shake to jump :/

Jesus Christ! Now you've explained yourself, strangely I am! :)

So the Gamepad works with Mario, as would any traditional Nintendo controller... But this new Pro Controller (I assume aimed at ZombiU then?) doesn't? Odd! Annoying!

EDIT: Seems it unnecessarily complicated things!

I knew the Wii U CPU wasn't fast, but I'm shocked at how slow it apparently is, 1.25GHz

Xbox 360's CPU runs at 3.2GHz, no matter how efficient the Wii U CPU could possibly be, it's still got to make up for a lot of clock speed.

It is an out of order CPU unlike the one in the Xbox 360 which isn't,and it also has three times the L3 cache too.

The Xbox360 CPU can run 6 threads though which is probably the most important difference though.

Edit!!

It has been suggested the CPU is based on the PowerPC 470:

Loving the console so far, the interface is great and the web browser is actually phenomenally smooth!

Quick play of Mario which plays and looks great, just about to jump into some Black Ops 2!

Feel free to add me: RRRRodgA

I usually buy every console on release day but I can't find a single compelling reason to buy one of these. It looks like a toy, overpriced, underpowered and worst of all no must have games.

I might change my mind when it's sub £200 and has at least 5 must have Nintendo games and one of those must be F-Zero.

Not trolling just disappointed that I don't want one!!!
