Hi all, before I purchased parts from another online site, long story short this site screwed me a new one like no other.

2 days after setting up the PC I came to the conclusion that I was out of pocket, and had no working PC.

Parts were dead and they didn't honor their guarantee.

So, after purchasing a new motherboard, a new cpu, new RAM and a new graphics card I switch on my system and ... no post beep, no screen, nothing.

Blinking Red LED on the front of my system.

I used an anti static wristband when installing everything, I kept my work area clean and safe, and did everything by the book. Wy won't my machine work??

Please help i'm at the end of my tether and on the verge of breaking down. I've gone 6 months without a pc i've now paid twice for.

Build:
Crappy cheap midi tower case
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3, AMD 760G
OCZ 550w PSU
AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition
XFX Radeon HD 7850 2gb core edition
Kingston Hyperxtreme 2x4GB 1333 RAM
Seagate Barracuda 500GB HDD

Please please please help me. I just don't understand.

I know you just want to get this working mate, but I have to ask how they managed to get away with screwing you with guarantees on new components?
Perhaps we can help with that.

If this is true, I will laugh, and then cry.

As I have replaced EVERYTHING else on the system, this will be a whole brand new computer.

So, I need to borrow someone elses power supply.. ok.. wonder if anyone has a spare PSU around here :S

When I tried to return the blatantly faulty products (RAM was dead, tested with memtest). Sent everything off to them, they returned everything else listed under "working" but the mobo was returned with bent resistors (were NOT like that when I sent it off).
So I asked for a refund, they basically turned around and told me to prove it was them who damaged the mobo, and the rest they would only offer me store credit for the other items. At this point I wanted nothing to do with that company so I tried to get a refund in actual money, even took it through paypal but, and this was the clever bit, they kept my parts for 6 weeks for "testing".

When I went to apply for a refund through paypal I was told I couldn't, as it had gone past 45 days since the purchase.

They screwed me good.

Found out just 10 minutes ago when installing the new CPU aswell, they'd sent me a knockoff cooler with the CPU, it wasn't the official AMD cooler.

Make sure you put the spacers in between the motherboard and the case. Check all the connections (including those that connect to the power on button). Reset the CMOS. If that doesn't work then reseat the CPU.

wow - nightmare!

It sounds like you have confirmed that you original components were faulty and in your OP you list a system that I assume you are sitting at and scratching you head about.

I am not that technical but have built a few systems. but I would start with looking at the simple things. You state you have a crappy case well I have had two builds (out of the five I have done) where the front micro-switch behind the power button on the case dislodged and so was not being pressed - check that. You do not mention whether the PSU spins up - check that and try another power cable. Following that if nothing happens then I am guessing it would be the Mobo or mounting problems.

Christ... I'd be on a rampage.

I know we can't name competitors, but the odd name n shame should be allowed imo.
Is this a fleabay company?
Maybe one of the staff here would like to chip in with their extensive knowledge of buyer/seller rights?

If you're in North/Central London, you're more than welcome to pop by and see if we can get your PC working :)

I'm down in Wales afraid, but thanks for the offer.

Not an ebay company, one that was recommended to me by an old friend, told me they were great and reliable, one who I found out AFTER purchasing all my parts from that all he did was buy thermal grease from them.
Cheers. ******.

PSU spins up, case fans spin and light up. CPU fan spins up, which is why until now I had assumed the PSU worked.
Some fault perhaps, I'm not too good with PSU's.

If I dropped into the local ...**NO COMPETITOR MENTIONING!**... (hurts me to say that) how much would they charge me to look over my system and try another PSU in it, anyone know??

edit: all spacers are in and secured.

What is the mobo, dose it have onboard gfx, if so, try that without the gfx card. PSU may spin but still not power your gfx card, if faulty. Good luck, and dont panic !

Don't waste your time, if it's not a branded built machine they will not look at it. You are better off finding a localcomputer repair shop. Where in wales are you?

Going local would be better me thinks.

Changed to onboard graphicsand...it's booted up. I'm on it now. Fits of joy.

Okay...okay...breathe

So to get it to recognise the hopefully working GPU, go into the bios and change it to not use the onboard graphics??

edit: location, Carmarthenshire, South West Wales.

There's a couple of small computer shops around here, though 2 are godawful that I know of. No idea how they are still in business.

you need to set to pci-e or peg as first initial display then plug the dvi cable or whatever cable into your gpu to your monitor
