Hello,
Getting PC for Dad and would just like to know if these components will play nice for purely surfing net and managing dads iTunes collection.

MB - Gigabyte H61MA-D2V
Mem - Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB
CPU - Intel Celeron G530 2.40GHz
OS - Windows 8 64bit

I have everything else (my only concern is will they fit and should i go for i3 sandybridge or will the intel celeron be enough)
Thankyou for any help

It'll be perfectly fine for doing what you've said, try and get a 64gb ssd for the os, it'll make the most difference.

should`ve got 2133 ram tbh, defo not 1333.

It wasnt a performance choice rather than price,
that ram is overkill given the systems use,i doubt it will ever use half the available ram and it certainly doesn't need to be any faster but at that price who cares ;)

The difference in performance between the two RAM speeds, especially in a budget system, is negligible. Frankly I agree with his decision. No point in spending lots of money on RAM in a system with this config.

the AMD i-GPU use's the raster ram speed's for video, it's is showen to give a lot more FSP when using the i-GPU, but for net and music there is no need and price point was better

AMD`s on board IGPU makes a very good use of faster ram speeds, thats why if you look at specced trinity builds everyone suggest getting 2133... But since your system never used for gaming I guess you can get away with 1333...
