On their site or somewhere else?

Why can't pingtest do my packet loss? I turned off IP Flood Detection as I thought that was the problem, but it's not.

I need to sort this out as it's getting bad for me now playing Black Ops II.

My Virgin Media connection is okay I guess. I can't wait for double speed to roll out in my area but it isn't happening until Feb-Apr 2013.

I sometimes think my connection is getting throttled at peak times, whether or not I should be I don't know. Sometimes I can't stream HD videos on YouTube which is quite annoying. Sometimes it doesn't even bother buffering them either and I have to turn the quality down to 720p/480p.

For anyone that's interested:

I'm happy to announce that we're starting to roll out the new R37 firmware for our Super Hub on Wednesday the 28th of November. This is after extensive testing and significant positive feedback from our trialists.

The R37 firmware includes the following updates:

Fix for corrupt downloads issue.
Fix to resolve interoperability issues with some VOIP SIP phones.
Fix for short disconnections and wireless connectivity issues for some mobile devices which require a Super Hub reboot to resolve.
Improvements related to issues that cause the Super Hub to reboot.

It'll be made available to our users on the following broadband packages on these dates, you'll need to reboot your Super Hub to get the firmware once it's available.

28th November
S, S5, M20, M10, 100, XXL100

3rd December
XL60

10th December
L, L30, XL, XXL, 30Mb, 120Mb

just got the email

We wanted to let you know that, from 1st February 2013*, the price of your Virgin Media services will increase by £3.09 a month. It's never nice when prices go up but it means we can continue to give you the best home entertainment and services.

I'm using a VM 50Mbps modem at the moment and have had an email through from VM advising that my service has been upped to 120Mbps and that I should upgrade to the new super hub (for free).
Having heard all the horror stories, I wonder if I should just stick with my current modem. My speed test results aren't exactly slow...

If you do decide to upgrade make sure you use a router alongside the superhub (modem mode I think it's called) as the wireless range is terrible.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Stick with what you have,i wish id had....superhub is alright but not a patch on their previus stand alone modem.

I'm actually going to be setting mine up in Modem mode & adding another Netgear router this weekend,as like Brummies said the wireless range is terrible.

using wireless in my sisters computer two rooms away from the superhunb it picks up 1 bar (low signal)...our walls are paper thin as well (new build) so its not the walls causing the issue.

Still having major issues with Youtube here, just wont buffer 720/1080p vids.

I've given up watching YouTube at home on my Vrgin connection, any time I want to watch something I just switch off Wi-fi and watch it on my EE mobile.

Hi all,

We are aware of issues with video buffering recently, and are investigating this. Updates regarding this are being posted in this thread as we have them, so you may wish to join the conversation there.

bah..... so much for my upgrade xD

my net is borked!!! ping still 14ms but down is only 0.6mb and up is 0.03mb...

tried everything my end to rectify it but nothing worked. checked the status online (on my phone because the VM was painfully slow) and it said no issues in the area.

phoned them up and described the problem... the lady on the other end investigated and told me there was an issue in the area and they were working on it and would check if that's what was affecting me. a few mins on hold later and apparently there's a probably with the actual line running down and the QoS on that line is wrong so it;s not giving me the correct bandwidth..... no s*** :p 1/100th of what i should be getting xD

but she said it is being worked on and it should be fixed by noon today.... so I'm hoping its fixed by the time i get home from work..... or they'll be getting another phone call! booooo!!!!!!!!!!
