No threads for this guy? 'Somebody that I used to know' - awesome, can't believe I switched to Radio 1 for the first time in years and I discover this song.
 
I must admit that song is my guilty pleasure. It's had over 100 plays on my iTunes which is scary and I'm still not bored of it.

That said, it's very old now :p
 
Yeah summer 2011. Can't believe no thread exists; is he seriously uncool or something? Like the girlie in the YouTube vid by the way!
 
My step sister saw him in concert and said he was brilliant - have to admit I'm not really that big a fan though I do like this (now famous) particular cover of his hit:

This song got old fast, especially when radio stations play it ALL DAY EVERY DAY.

It's almost as bad as Adele or "never ever ever, getting back togetherrrrr"

I cannot stand hearing it any more, it's become infuriatingly tired.

The only part of my post addressed to you was the "Are you serious?" part, which referred to the fact that you have only just discovered this song despite it being played constantly, everywhere since the beginning of this year.

The rest is just general ramblings about how I feel about the track.

Yeah, new job and a new kid has seen me exposed to pretty much no popular culture for the last year and a bit. You'll learn all about that one day.
 
It was posted loads on here from what I remember.

It was definitely discussed in here and I saw it pop up in GD a few times (youtube thread and shizzle)
 
Annoying the first time I heard it. Got more annoying every time since. Was surprised at the reception it got, people really raving about it.
 
Have to say I absolutely hate this song.
So much so that I have to turn the channel.

I quite like it myself, but then I've liked Gotye (and The Basics) for a while, ever since my mate moved out to Australia really and sent me a link to some of his stuff.
