Now this isn't funny as the poor little people from PETA were not shown the courtesy that bikers are famous for.

This story did make me smile. What did they think would happen? I'm not saying it's right what did happen, honest, but as is stated in the article, these are not a bunch of women wearing fur. At least they got some proper food in them for a change.

I think that if you're going to start throwing fake blood or balloons filled with coloured water at people and accuse them of being murderers you have to take the rough with the smooth when it comes to the response you are going to get, and being asked to join via the gangs secret handshake is a good thing right? :p

Haha, that's just our secret handshake! Quality.

A little bit OTT perhaps, but then again the protestors were a little bit themselves!.

I don't feel the reaction was correct, but it doesn't surprise me, and the PETA guys must have realised how stupid this was going to be...

Not to rain on this particular parade but it sounded unbelievable and so Snopes agrees. Since it sounded fanciful I thought Glossynews as referenced in the "article" might be worth checking but no, it's not even mentioned there.

I know it's nice to think people don't make things up on the internet but if it sounds a bit too exciting to be true then it's probably worth a little bit of fact checking first.

Was just about to post the same thing.

Outrageous story on a no name website with a random picture that appears all over the internet? Yeah, probably not entirely true :p

Shame it's fake there's some good comments in there.

“They peed on me!!!” charged one activist. “They grabbed me, said I looked like I was French, started calling me ‘La Trene’ and duct taped me to a tree so they could pee on me all day!”

‘farting on their heads,’ the organizer declined to comment in detail. “That’s just our secret hand shake,” assured the organizer.

yup shame its false, though to compensate, a real life incident - greenpeace attempting to invade the IPE did result in a response they weren't used to from the floor traders

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2005/feb/17/activists.climatechange

three Greenpeace climbers hung a banner from the roof declaring "Climate change kills. Stop pushing oil", more than a dozen people were hurt when angry traders pulled a large metal bookcase on top of protesters and guards waded in to punch and kick people trapped in corridors

"We believe we are stopping trading in oil on the global market. They just laid into us. We were non-violent and we made it clear that's what we were there for. But there were quite a few blows raining down on our heads. There was not much discussion. We decided to retreat for everyone's safety."
