**OcUK CYBER MONDAY MENTAL NVIDIA DEALS!!**

Kinda wish i'd bought an SLI board way back when I built this PC, a pair of 460s or 470s would have been lovely at that price :(
 
3 gtx480 are you guys insane?
If they are not underwater i can no see how that will work
Beside how do you save on money if you get robbed by the power company
250W X 3 750W only on electricity, and the cost of a high end power supply
2 gtx 480 equal to a gtx 670
power consumption 500W versus 170W
142pounds compared to 276pounds 134diference
Need power supply another 100+ pounds
You fold 5howers a day (500W-170W)X5 per day X 30 days X 0.13pounds/kilowatt
8.25pounds/month X 12=99pounds a year;12howers a day folding 217.9pounds
Bottom line is that the difference in electrical expense from dual gtx 480 to gtx 670 in a heavy usage environment is not saving you anything
From what i know 2 GTX 480 have the same horsepower as a gtx 670 might be wrong
 
To add, when I orginally ran 480 SLI on bf3 I also suffered microstutter. However, going up to a 27" and not having the extra cash to spend at the moment for a new gpu as well, I feel that for £70 I can suffer it if they haven't fixed it already.

Are you expecting them to not work? Surely the money has to be on at least one of them working. Though I guess if they both don't work then there isn't much point having either of them, if that is your point?

You're wrong.
An OC'ed GTX480 can give GTX580 performance, it couldn't do so if it was miles apart from the get go.
More to do with being stuck on 40nm, there was only so far they could go, the GTX580 is better in everyway, but they're not leagues apart.

2 will be in one system and 1 in another ;)

i wont be folding on them forever.... just while these beta work units are about :)

and the 6XX kelper cards are not optimized for folding yet....

so the 480 wins hands down for the price :)

i will be getting a 670 FTW very soon as an xmas present to myself for gaming ;)
 
Awesome pricing right there for the 480. Might buy the nephew it for xmas. Better than his 8800 anyday
 
hmm GT210 or GT 240 for movie playback

currently the pc box that im planning to pass on has an intel e2140 and an x1950pro
and since the x1950pro is power hungry and i think it does not support the current codecs for it to accelerate

any suggestions?
 
Kept swaying back and forth about selling my 6850 and getting a gtx480 but think I'm gonna wait for next year to upgrade less power consumption,less noise and more powerful.

Awesome price though still want one! Hahaha
