Today i traded in 8 PS3 games to the value of £37.4.

I took advantage of the steam wallet trade in deal at GAME.

However the vouchers i have received are in dollars, as follows;

$20 Wallet voucher
$10 Wallet voucher
$5 Wallet voucher
£2.40 gift card.

Essentially they quoted me £37.4 for 8 games then gave me the vouchers in dollars....

this CANNOT be how it works.....can it ? anyone else had this issue? Or do the voucher's convert themselves back into £GBP when you enter them on the website.

Fanks :D

If its £1 = $1 then that is a ridiculously bad deal, and the initial small print didnt explain it :(

My own fault i suppose, not going to use any up, till someone can verify GAME are at fault, then i can take them back unused and get them in £GBP value.

Just seems like a pretty rubbish deal tbh. £1 = 1$ sounds about right though...pfft.

I'm confused. If it's £1 = $1 then you've been given the correct amount. If it's converted at the current exchange rate you'd be getting screwed.

Just try the $5 card and see what happens. If it credits you $5 or £3.10 then go back to game and complain. If it credits you £5 then happy days.

Edit: Wait, I think I see what's happened. What Eeethan I think meant that when you enter the $5 code you'll be given £5 credit but you think he meant that £1 worth of trade ins = $1 worth of credit?

I assume the actual trade in value was less than £37.40. The £37.40 was with the 33% extra for the Steam Wallet.

However they give the correct amount in £s for Steam Wallet. Just ignore the $ sign on the printout.

There was no 33% Extra listed on the receipt, although not sure if that's mandatory, it did say in store 33%* - *selected titles only.

Im scared to type the code in in case it is $$$ :( haha

If it is dollars im looking at a £13.25 loss on my trade in.

As someone who has his receipt here and put it 2 $20 codes and one $10 code I can tell you I have £50 in my wallet.

That I was :(.

Use the $5 code and see what happens. You'll only lose a couple of quid that way and if it doesn't work $=£ then go and complain to game :).

Oh also the 33% won't show up on your receipt as it's added to the price of the trade in value of the game. So if you use the online price checker you will see that you got more for your game than the trade in says it's worth.

Ah yes, everything is okay now peeps, took the plunge and the $ codes DO register as £

Just raised alarm bells when the voucher stated dollars, that's all.

Also yes Tobes the 33% does seem to be evenly distributed amongst all my trade in values. Not sure what i was even worried about!

onwards! to a great Christmas steam sale :)
