I've got a NAS box with 2 x 2TB drives for all my films, TV programs and music etc that I have connected to a media PC for watching on my main tv but I'm looking to add another small cheaper box in the bedroom for accessing my files.

I've looked at the Western Digital TV Live Streaming Media Player..are they any good? what does the interface look like when accessing moves etc on the network?

My main PC uses XBMC so thats what I'm used to at the moment

surprised no ones replied:confused: ive got two and up to now haven't let me down...1 connected to the family tv connected to a 1tb external and 1 in the bedroom connected to 300gb 2.5drive .. both can acces each other and my 4tb nas...gets the thumbs up from me..plenty of pics of the interface on the net..

That's what I did. Still got my main pc for sorting stuff out. Good thing about wdtv is that it's wife/kid friendly! :D
I've got mine connect using network powerlines adapters aswell which helps with streaming..

I can whole-heartedly recommend the WDTV Live as a media player - I have one of the older ones (not as nice a UI as the newer models) and it's never let me down!

Love mine, great bit of kit, the standard UI isn't as nice as some but this can be modded if you feel the need. Works fine for me though. I tend to have my 2tb drive connected all the time but do have it connected as above incase I haven't yet moved something from the pc to HDD (I don't have to have my PC and its fans running when using HDD of course)

Everyone seems to love the WDTV Live.

I got mine a few hours ago.

Where is BBCI player?

Is it just my box that navigation is slow on? Scrolling along menus takes forever. Compared to a PS3 for e.g. Or XBMC?

I think it's in Services... but make sure your firmware is updated if it doesn't show up. Yes navigation is slow.

I just programmed my harmony remote, that made things a bit smoother... Still slow.

Sorry I should have mentioned, I updated the firmware.

BBCI Player is no where to be seen. I thought it was supposed to be available now?

Thanks for confirming nav is slow. Wasn't sure if it was a bug with mine.

Nav is fairly slow compared to some, but it will pretty much play anything you throw at it.

Iplayer should be there in services. Movies and tv

Have to tried resetting it?

I had to reset it to get the time correct as it was showing 10 mins or so fast. Never appeared. I don't think it's available on the WDTV LIVE. Only the hub which is the more expensive model.

There's no mention if iPlayer on the box or on the product page of WD.

Well it is as I've got the wdtv live and had to check where it was for my last post. Used it a couple times but so much has Iplayer it's rare I use the wdtv for it.

That's ok I'm on the ipad also,

Yep that is the one, Live streaming media player is the one which got Netflix and Iplayer in an update.

The older live devices didn't get either (live and live plus) only the live streaming.
