Hello guys,

I'm currently thinking about upgrading my 560 but is there anything around the £150-£200 mark thats going to be a massive improvement on both my games and sound the thing makes?? When the 560 gets going it can be quite loud,.

I would say a 7850 with a healthy overclock should give you a nice jump in performance...

...or, you could stretch to a 7950. Don't forget you can sell the games to even things out. (A 7850 with games could work out a very cheap upgrade indeed).

I've linked Asus as an example (you mention noise in your post), though there are others that would suit, e.g. Gigabyte / HIS. Iirc, Asus make some of the quietest models in these ranges. However, be warned, they aren't renowned for being the quickest when it comes to dealing with replacements.

If you stretch even to a £229 7950 and then sell the game codes to get under budget this is the best overall option I think.

Sell the games and the the upgrade will be a lot cheaper an certainly worthwhile.
I'm currently deciding if to upgrade from my 6850 (it runs everything fine which is the problem) but with these deals and by the time you sell your ok card and games it really is a pretty cheap upgrade and a good leap in performance ready for next years games.

On a quick question do you think the prices will drop much more?

Many thanks for the 7950 advice, It seems like that'll be the one, but out of curiosity is there nothing from the green team that's a good worthwhile upgrade on a budget?

The 660 (non-ti) is reasonably well priced, though AFAIK it doesn't come with games / codes, so it will cost more in comparison to AMD's offerings. However, it is within your budget, and like the 7850, with an overclock you should see quite a jump in performance. Depends what you fancy / what games you play, etc.

Just noticed this from another thread (I appreciate you might go for the 7950, but I'd thought I still post this) :

Not much. They're pretty much at the same price point as the 6950 was now a month or so before the 7900 series release. As we're more than a month or two before the 8900 release I'd say they'll hold this price for a while.

Deals may come though!
