Bit of an unusual one, but here goes...

I've got an old leather glove that's become quite rigid and inflexible with age, but I'd still like to get some use out of it.

I've tried Nikwax on it, to see if that would soften it up but it hasn't really done a lot.

Can anyone recommend anything that works well to soften untreated leather, and hopefully isn't stupidly expensive?

I can get a new glove for £25-30, so I'd rather not spend loads on chemicals that end up not doing much.....

Ta :)

Once it's hit that stage it's probably best just replacing it and then making sure you treat the new ones so they last.

Steam. Just stick a wooden spoon into it & hold it over boiling water for a bit, Don't go to far & soak it though. You'll feel it go loose then stick it on your hand & work it for a few mo's, JD.

Cheers, I'll give that a bash tonight.

It's not originally my glove, its' original owner has now passed away so it's a little sentimental (more so to the wife than me) so it'll be getting kept nomatter what, but I may as well use it if at all possible. :)
