as title really looking at this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-002-TL&tool=3

i currently have this: http://www.xigmatek.com/product.php?productid=8

i have replaced the fan for a akaska venom viper

will this make much difference to my temps?

my min is around 36-38 depending on temp of room
my max is around 64c depending on how demanding the game is gaming.

i quite like that it will make my case look a little tidier too! also when i sell my cooler this wont cost me much really.

does this have the problem of the noisy pumps and so on that the h60 where cursed with?
are they noisy? any known problems?
also will this fit in my bit fenix shinobi case?
im not expecting anything amazing tbh just like it because it will tidy up my case

any help is much appreciated

I have a H60 at work, more of a whim purchase than anything. The pump is audible in a very quiet room with the PC idling, it doesn't really seem to get much louder. Not annoyingly so, just present. It is in a fairly rubbish tinny case though. The fan provided, however, was truly diabolical and hit the bin within an hour

its the ocuk tech labs liquid cooler im looking at looks to be a h60 with a slightly bigger rad.

how does your h60 perform temp wise?

this doesnt come with a fan so would be using my akaska venom viper on the rad .

No idea of temps to be honest, it's on a Phenom II X6 1055t at stock and the most the machine does is Access and Excel :p

im using a antec khuler 620 (i know its not the h60 but they are based around the same performance i guess)

they dont perform as good as a high end air cooler (my opinion of course) they can be loud as mentioned

i would say they are good at stock speeds, but when you heat your cpu up, they dont do an amazing job as you think

would you go for another air cooler or are you just looking for a AIO unit?

tbh i dont really need one my temps im fine with and my rig isnt really very loud humms away but looked at this thought it was cheap and im curious to what these are like (im running a i5 2500k @4.4ghz)

thinking if i sold my cooler it would only cost about a £10 to try just hope its not louder than my current setup and/or runs hotter or would i be better just forgetting it and sticking with what i have?

my antec is cooling a i5 760 at 4ghz and tbh im not happy with it

personally i would just stick with what you have (unless your looking for more performance and get a bigger heatsink)

i bought my cooler hoping it would do what you explained but unfortunetly it hasen't and i wish i got a high end air cooler :(

what temps are you getting beasty6? what fans are you sing? tbh aslong as it kept the temps im running now i would be happy not really looking to it to be a step up just a sidestep of something different

i have mine pulling air from the outside of my case into the radiator, and im using a aerocool shark 120mm fan at 1200rpm

rite now just browsing im at 48 degrees, when i was playing ac3 earlier i was getting around the 60-70 degree margin and also my fan speeds up when needed and slows down etc

maybe it will work better with your chip than mine?

if its only a tenner for a shot then go for it, but if you dont like it your going to have to go through the hassel of getting another air cooler

go with what ever your happy with buddy, these are just my thoughts and experiences with my cooler :)

hmmm those temps are higher than what im getting now! at the moment im running 32c idle /browsing and 47-50 gaming(walking dead dont think its massively intense cpu wise ) have seen 65c

might just stick with what i have dont really wanna get higher temps for more money im surprised though as my cooler isnt exactly a expensive one.

I've used an Antec 920 and it was to be honest just plain noisy and vibrated too idle temp was about 30c , under load about 48-50c i think.....so I changed it to a Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler , its a big cooler thats true , but its silent all the time , and idle temps are about 26c and under load " when gaming " get to a max of 37c :)

Also I had to remove the heat spreaders from my Ram to fit under the cooler as it hangs over a little :)

Your temps aren't a problem to begin with

I know there not and as explained its more of a "I wonder what it's like scenario" and it would tidy up the case as I like the look.

But just worried about noise and that I may get hotter temps which I don't want

I had a H50 and even re-seating a couple of times I was still getting really high temps. I decided to change to a Noctua NH-D14 (and a bigger case to fit it in !!). Temps much lower but then realised there wasn't any difference to gaming on my i7-920 between 3.8Ghz and 4.0+Ghz anyway, so have just left it at 3.8Ghz.
Am about to watercool using the V12 kit, really just to keep my 7970 cooler
