i sold my s3 this week and bought the lumia 920 red from phones4u knowing full well it would be locked to EE. although the staff in the shop told me it was unlocked to any network, like all of their sim free phones. however when i opened it as i suspected it was locked, ad i rang them up, and all they said was it must be a mistake with the handset, bring it back in and test out my sim in another 920, or exchange or refund it. i didnt go back in, i know it would be a waste of time, besides im too fond of my new 920 to get a refund, so fully prepared to pay for the unlock on. my guess is phones4u are just poorly educating their own staff on their product.

anyway after much lookking around the web, i found three websites that offer the 920 uk unlock for ee, these are:

Yes please! The only reason I haven't bought a Lumia 920 yet is because no one has confirmed yet that either of the Services you mentioned actually are able to unlock the phone... so yes please give us an update!
 
Chaps i need some help please. I've been holding out with this post because i thought i should be able to figure it out myself but alas i am a moron! Problem: when i got my new yellow peril i opened up a new windows live mail (@live.com) account. When i went online and began to look at the settings on the live.com website it offered to merge loads of stuff together onto one live account (email,contacts,calender). The phone now shows 'live mail' and 'live' as two separate accounts and has duplicated everything in my contacts even when i have unticked the live mail in settings. Has anyone else had the same issue?
 
Just an update on my battery issues (incase anyone was following or searching looking for answers).

My battery has gone from lasting 6-7 hours max on the first day to well over 24 hours now.

A few days of full discharges AND removing Facebook and Nokia Drive seems to have done the trick.

The battery in the 920 is vastly better than I was used to with my iPhone 4.

Currently but 920 is at 58% with approx. 12 hours remaining and 13 hours since it's last charge. I'm happy with that :)
 
Interesting the htc 8s is shipping with a new firmware which allows wifi on locked screen option(always on wifi). Wonder how long till. You guys get this new firmware if ever.

i looked up this question earlier, officially the 920 is suppose to take 3hrs50 to charge fully on wireless, and in tests by people it took about 4 hrs, or a little over 4 hours.
 
Damn. Finally got around to one of those shops today and held the black Lumia 920. It was looking so deliciously premium, I wish I went for that £310 deal I saw on the bay two days ago (was adamant on getting the white one) :(

I noticed how 'small' my missus' Lumia 800 is, along with all the pixels! I can actually see the pixels on a phone I previously used and thought WOW.

Seriously, this phone is making me see more flaws in my previous and other phones. And also, I have biceps now so the 920 weighs like nothing and the Lumia 800 / friend's iPhone 4S now feels weak, not 'heavy' and not exactly filling me with confidence to the quality.

What is happening to me?! AHHHH :eek:

Which validates my point that some people just have phones to play with and not use. More than one phone? do you not have better things to spend money on, I have a mortgage and home improvements to fund for instance.
 
I've always preached having a phone and a tablet with different OS, I find it a much better choice than having two phones or two very similar devices (iPhone+iPad or Nexus 4+Nexus 7 seem very silly to me). That being said, people work for their money so they can do whatever they want with it :)
 
Just spoke to Clove, my delivery address is at work and if it arrives tomorrow it might have caused issues.

Sounds like if you have the normal UPS delivery it will be Monday, as they dont deliver on a Saturday. It sounded like changing anything on the order now would only have delayed it, so left it as it was. If they process the order today then it looks like Monday is guaranteed with UPS. Going to be a long weekend!
