Japan Earthquake Sparks Tsunami Alert

That's what happens when you live on the pacific rim, they could all choose to leave if they wished, not that it would ever occur.

However it does mean that Japan has a constant reason to update their infrastructure, which speaks volumes about how useless ours is, I also wonder if changes the overall attitude of people to either being far more vicious in their pursuits or more helpful and kind.

Either way, the threat of another nuclear catastrophe wont occur this time (just in case anyone is wondering).

Just heard this on the radio, They really are getting ****** like a Boss over there aren't they.

Hope everyone there is ok and this is, hopefully, just a logical precaution. There is a massive difference between a magnitude 7.3, which this was, and a magnitude 9.0 which the disasterous one was.

This... They should be okay and be able to cope with this one *fingers crossed for them!* :(

So far the reports on the Tsunami seem positive in terms of size, still flood alerts and possible small water damage, but compared to 2011's seems to be a lot smaller.

1m reported so far compared to the 10-11 I think they had last year, lets hope it stays that way.

I was right on the coast in Miyagi when it hit tonight. Although it was the biggest quake this year and really the first big quake that wasn't a direct aftershock since last March, it wasn't too bad. The quake seemed to go on for ages but it didn't feel very strong. The tsunami alarms did sound though and we did evacuate but no damage reported.

Also this is me on BBC news earlier in case anyone's interested: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-20639184
