Duchess of Cambridge's nurse has reportedly been found dead

Her topping herself over something so trivial would, to me anyway, indicate some form of already existing mental problems. I mean, it's not as if she did anything wrong, she was on switchboard duty and simply transferred a call to the ward requested. It wasn't her who breached confidentiality.

Catch up, dear boy. It is the nurse herself who has died.

Dear lord, we don't know the full story here people, so can we stop it with the "she topped herself because she couldn't take a prank" crap please.

See I don;t think it's the DJs fault at all, if anything it's GOOD they carry out prank calls to hospitals. She did wrong, they just highlighted the fact that she breached the strict confidentiality levels.

For all we know that nurse told stories about all of the patients to friends and that's not on.

It's by no means funny that she has committed suicide, but she definitely deserved to lose her career. Doesn't matter that it's a prank call.

I think it's you who needs to 'catch up. The nurse who was switchboard duty and who transferred the call down to the ward where another nurse breached confidentiality has killed herself, not the nurse who actually gave details to to the two idiot DJs.

Mother-of-two Jacintha Saldanha, who was working on the switchboard when 2DayFM obtained intimate details about Kate, was found dead near the King Edward VII Hospital today.

Ms Saldanha answered the hoax call at 5.30am on Wednesday morning and transferred the call through to Kate's ward.

Another nurse then told the giggling DJs, Mel Greig and Michael Christian, who were pretending to be the Queen and Prince Charles, how the Duchess was about to 'get freshened up'.

ok

she killed herself because the prank call made her famous....seriously killing yourself because you're made famous over a prank.....what was she thinking when she has 2 kids to look after

anyone over the age of 16 making prank calls deserves to have their teeth kicked in and sent to work down a coal mine.

Why do you find it funny?

It's understandable as they did carry out the hoax which lead to her suicide. So some of the responsibility must lie on their shoulders.
Someone correct my spelling and grammar on this forum.
If I commit suicide do we hold them partly responsible as well?

Can you imagine when she started her job if someone had asked her to find a left handed bed pan. she might have topped herself!

Then again maybe you have no sense of dignity, or no sense of anything for that matter?

Of course I've heard the phrase before, and it's still ridiculous. Why should someone lose their job because she killed herself? Should people have been fired before she killed herself?

because there has been a negative public reaction to it, quite obviously

its not a normal job, part of their job involves winning listeners and thereby increasing advertising revenue - negative publicity on a massive scale pretty much means the station has to take action, these two DJs are now going to be on the receiving end of a lot of open public hate, I doubt many advertisers are going to be happy about running things during their show... they need to be sacked

Personally I am surprised at the large number of professional psychologists we have in this thread that can judge her mental state from just a few news articles...
