***The Official HTC Butterfly Thread ***

I really like the design, but then I always have liked HTC phones.
the lick screen button is an issue and requires a phone reposition in the hand or a second hand to lock it
I personally like the select app button and use this far more than a settings button

I will await the verdict on the battery but I really think it's too small with the nexus galaxy how it is for me
and also the nled

if these 2 things came good it would be a buy for me

There are already plenty of impressions on the battery life at XDA (the majority are getting very good battery life) for the DNA, the butterfly will be no different.

Plus android police have tested the battery (best test I have seen for battery life) and it came out great considering that guys usage:

And then it did well in gsmarena's test (although I don't base much on these sort of battery tests........), for comparison:

It could improve with more software updates as well.

Oh wow this has a SD slot! Nice specs!

However I'm not completely sold only because of HTC's update policy. If they can get their act together in releasing software updates in a timely manner then I'm interested.

I've been looking forward to this for ages but the recent speculation on the M7 which could be released in February??? has got me thinking to wait even looonger with my very quickly aging DHD or plump for this???

The M7 rumored specs are the same as the droid dna/butterfly. Makes me think it's simply the european code name for the butterfly since HTC announced it a day after the m7 rumours surfaced.

Anyway I'm more interested in the Oppo find 5! Might chop my nexus 4 in if it makes its way over here (unlikely though :()

M7 specs are similar except it has a bigger battery, aluminium unibody, 13 megapixel camera and JB 4.2 - which sounds to me like the perfect phone

Lets hope the M7 is true, as Oxide says "sounds like the perfect phone" I loved the aluminium unibody phones, they feel so much more like a well built phone in the hand, the plastic on the One X is ok but the aluminium unibody is so much nicer.

Sounds a bit like the Oppo Find 5! :p Regardless it doesn't quite make sense especially for a February release which will I imagine be shortly after the butterfly hits EU shores.

I'm still really concerned about battery.
my galaxy nexus almost goes down 1% a minute or two after the 4.2 update.

at the moment I'm charging overnight. 50% of the work day and some of the evening

It is probably a bug with 4.2 as 4.2 is very buggy from reading around.

Besides, the galaxy nexus hasn't got that great of battery life anyway iirc...

If this thing can make it through a days regular use - so bit of web browsing, music listening, app use - so a gd few hours screen on time then I'd be more than happy!

Am used to charging my DHD overnight everyday and then sometimes at work too depending on how much it's been used - video watching would likely mean daytime charging would be a must!

Am getting bored of apps crashing on me from time to time and the slow downs - although bare in mind I've not modded my phone at all - it's still running 2.3.5 :p

I love jellybean on my touchpad so know what's in store :)

it will most likely support 64GB cards too.

Just take my money already HTC.

Seeing as I'm now £289.99 richer because I cancelled my N4 order, I'm sure I can put another couple of hundred quid in and get this beauty!

Release date please HTC!
