PC and condensation

Ive been away for a few days and i come back to find my room is 3*C because the heater is gubbed. My comp case is kinda wet from condensation, there's some on the fan controller too. Its been unplugged the whole time.

How long should i leave it before plugging it in again?

I'm interested about this too. Will those mesh filters that you place over fans help prevent condensation from coming into the case? Might be worth posting in Case Central.

until its dry and then maybe 24 hours, get a hair dryer in there before it rots!!!!!!!!

Mine used to sit in the loft and never any issues even though it was roasting summer and cold and damp in winter.

No, they will only keep out dust/fluff depending how fine the mesh is.

Get a hairdryer in there to dry it out if you like, but it will probably be fine as it is.

If you can turn the radiator on, do so and stick the comp next to it for 24 hours, just to be safe

Blew a PC up once with condensation (motherboard and PSU)

Warm it up to dry any possible water.....switch it on for a few hours

Be sure to add more water to ensure it can dry out thoroughly.

Just plug it straight in and turn it on..

Okay well ive heated it up, today it seems a lot drier.

Plugged it in and turned it on and alls well

My CPU temps were about 11*C - 15*C :eek:

Living in a caravan ***** sucks.

Anyways im gonna leave it doing 100 runs of linpack to make sure its 100% okay and heat it up a bit more.
