Just to start things off i cannot afford a 5D mk3!! but i was thinking of changing my camera body to something that has a usable ISO higher than my 550D @ 1600.

Now i know that only leaves the 600d, 650d, 60d, 7d and 6d but what should i be looking at?

I rarely use my flash and i shoot land shapes but i like to use my camera in hard to reach places.

many thanks

5DII? There are a few places that you can pick them up too, can't name the place for obvious reasons, but will be a drastically lower priced than the 6D as they're trying to get rid of the remaining stock.

If you don't mind going secondhand, I would go for the 5DII as Auraomega suggested. Full frame goodness means good noise control, and match it with a good lens and it's great for landscape work. Haven't really looked but it's around £900.

6d or second hand 5dmk2. Canon crop sensors are really far behind the pack.

If you are not invested in too much glass swapping to a Nikon d7000 would be a good move.

Their wide what lenses are you using? Getting a father zoom or prie may ave. bigger impact. Of cpurse if you are already shooting st f1.8 then anew body is a must.

6d is fantastic it beat all the 5ds at high iso I've witness it.

I am a owner of a 6d a mate got 5d mkiii and he getting a 6d as he does lots low light photography

i have spent quite a lot recently on lenses, my dad and best mate use canon as well so it would pay to stay as we can lens swap etc.

I see the 6d is good with high iso's but im not 100% sure about full frame cameras, plus i do some times use my flash.

I would love to see some samples of high iso images on a 6D i will have a hunt around on google images.

Well, we've got a couple of 5DII's new still, so I imagine other stores do if you shop around. They come in at really cheap now compared to release/5DIII/6D. Obviously new ones are going to be more expensive than second hand so don't discount it, but that's not to say without a bit of looking you can't find a new 5DII.

This image is taken at 12800 ISO and I have never ever in ownership of any camera I been able to take images at 12800 and be please.

This is SOOC no editing at all. My 7D I had once it goes above 3200 anything above 6400 be in the bin. 5D MKII was a bit better but now WAY as near as the 6D

Seeing the 6D vs. D600 ISO shots, the 6D was absolutely epic for low noise shots.

Pretty sure robbie shoots at 5000+ happily on his mkiii...

MKIII yes will be better than the MKII a Mate said my images I Showed him at 12800 even 25600 exceed what he can get on his MKIII he is amazed..

Dont get me wrong the 5D MKIII is still a fantastic camera it really is.

Reason I wanted the 6D

Weight and Size
Full Frame
Low Light Performance
GPS for when trekking.

I would have liked the FPS to be a bit faster since I had a 7D but I am sure I can cope and get use to it.

All this Hype people moaning about it only got 11 AF point and 1 Cross does not bother me at all. I hardly use them I always use the centre point (focus then compose).

Landscape there plenty to use for it.
