 lots of pubs around.
I lived in Newcastle for 3 years. It is by far my favourite city in the UK.
Yes - you can go to your local on a Friday nightlots of pubs around.
Went to one pub with a group of friends and there wasn't enough space for us all on a table. A couple of groups of people shuffled up so we could all fit in
Lovely place!

Geordie shore
The muppets off that should be hung fr the Tyne bridge by the ankles and used as human piñata, fugly scummers!
Ive spent many a good night in the Monkey Arms before I married my Geordie lass and then after when we would travel up to see her family.

A lot of the cast of Geordie Shore are actually from the land of smog apparently, Hear bad things about the show.

As for the nightlife, it is legendary. Personally it isn't my scene at all and the Newcastle you see during the day becomes completely different on the night. But if you aren't into getting paralytic down the Bigg Market then there are plenty of other options such as the Pubs down in Ouseburn (Good real ale pubs).
