I think before I attempt my 150mi ride next summer I will have to get some Assos bib shorts. 10-12h in the saddle will require a naked virgin massage.:D
 
to those who wear cycling glasses while cycling, do they keep the wind away? i have been crying like a little baby every time i go a long down hill or get up to speed! my eyes really start tearing when wind gets into them! i have tried some aviators that i had laying around and that made it worse! :| so instead of coming to work with red eyes im thinking of getting cycling glasses! the question is do they work ?!

They do stop your eyes watering which is good. However I do still get pretty bloodshot/red eyes after a ride, especially if it's higher speed.

+1 for cycling glasses. Protecting your eyesight is well worth the price of cheap cycling specs. I have a pair of Avenir Smokes which cost £20 for the daily commute and normally use yellow lenses to enhance contrast.

Only time I find it annoying to wear them is when it is very cold because I also wear a buff and when stopping at traffic lights my breath steams the lenses up to the point where it is unsafe.
 
I do find I get pretty red/bloodshot eyes after riding even when wearing glasses, and I can't work out weather this is due to endorphines or some wind still getting on my eyes. Does anyone else get this or is it just me?
 
I have a pair of Uvex Crow "pro" with reactive, hydrophobic and anti reflection coated prescription lenses. Cost a fortune but well worth it.

And no I don't get bloodshot.
 
I've got Oakly Flak Jackets with prescription transition lenses so I can still wear them in the dark. I treat the outside regularly with Rain-X and the inside with Rain-X demister to stop them steaming up.

Despite wearing them I still end up crying some times. Though that's probably more to. Do with reading my average speeds.
 
After having my Triban 3 for nearly 4 months now I have got to say how good it is. It being my first road bike I can't compare it to anything else though. The last few weeks I have 'upgraded' it a little too. My birthday was on the 6th and I was treated to a trip to Decathlon.

I managed to purchase the SKS Race blade mudguards. Ideal as I use it to commute to work and back, stops my bum from getting wet plus the added bonus that thye are quite flush and don't look tacky. In my opinion of course.

Also I got the Sigma Micro lights for the front and back. Small, discreet and very bright led lights.

Sigma BC906 computer to show my my speed, distance etc. New bottle cage with go faster stripes.

I am happy with my items and make the bike look quite swish. :-)

On another note the gears are slipping now. I am changing down or up and the chain not moving then after a little bit of peddling it switches gear. I am guessing its time to re-align them. I take it this is done by altering the little screws on the mechs. Any help welcome.
 
Not the screws but there should be a barrel adjuster where the cable enters the rear mech. Cables stretch slightly with use when new an so they need tightening after a little while. Just start with a quarter turn an see how you go.

Count your turns so you can get back to where you started if you start turning the wrong way.
 
Yep don't play with the limit screws :p I can never remember whether to turn clockwise or anti-clockwise to tighten with the barrel adjusters, always make it worse than when I started!

Have your Royce hubs turned up yet Asprilla?
 
Just ordered some Bloc Shadow sunglasses (3 interchangeable lenses) on Probikekit, the Bloc Stealth also get good reviews. They are cheap on Probikekit, £45 reduced to £22....way cheaper than anywhere else i found (eg on Wiggle they are a lot more!).

Have just got some Uvex clear lense glasses from Probikekit but they hurt my head so they are going back.
 
Swapped the wheels, the cassettes on the wheels, pedals and saddles over this morning between Canyon & Ti.

So from next week I'll be commuting on the Canyon, but looking forward to getting out on the Ti on a proper run to see how it fares on a hilly route.
