Student Finance - Grr...

Pl3db.jpg

I bloody hate students.

I have pretty much nothing left to sell. I can't get a job, as my course is rather demanding and I personally cannot keep up with both course and job. I've tried :(

I'm sorry but I know a single mum with 2 children holding down a full time job (Nursing - so hours can be ridiculous) who has done 2 degree's over the last few years in her own time....and you are saying you can't do 1 Uni course (of how many hours per week?) and a part-time job because you can't keep up...

Honestly, man up, that is such a **** poor excuse :p

Oh wow :D

So many people can't read. I've said a few times now that I'm sorted :)

This was just a rant against the ineffectual student finance :D

You're expenditure is too high. That bus trip costs more than you can feed yourself for one meal. After you have paid for fees, rent, basic food and earnt money, and you still don't have enough then student finance are worth talking to. I don't entirely believe DJ'ing is as time consuming as other degrees. During Engineering I only went to bed on average 4 times a week in the final year (it was worse right at the end). I was wreck after that and I had already been doing something similar the year before.

Well, I do maths, it is very time consuming :/

Confused.

If you are that confused, I apologise.

But still, try reading all of my posts. My ex has offered to pay food for a week, and I also won a power supply the other day which I unfortunately will he selling. By then it will be time to go home to Norwich, and I'll hopefully have my grant through by then anyway.

Hopefully this clears things up for people :)

Haha

At least it's all electronic now. Mines was done on forms, it was lost somewhere between the council and Student Loan Company and never got my first loan payment for weeks.

Had to wait in my local council for hours to sort it out

For some reason I thought it was a music based course. Yes maths is time consuming, not the worst but can be bad. Good to hear you got it sorted, but just be mindful of the expenditure. I have seen so many people screw up at uni because of that.

There's still a lot of forms in this situation :( which I think is half the issue.

No time for a part time job while at uni........ just lol :D

Grow up and stop wasting everyones time.

You clearly have no grip on your financial state if youre buying 60+ quid headphones yet have no money for food the next minute.

Yes the student finance people are useless and slow, you make out that is some sort of revelation and a suprise!

Real title of thread should be

"I spent all my money and didnt plan ahead as i assumed the student finance people would make me a special case and actually perform their job with speed and diligence!!! they didnt now im screwed!" :p

Haha I sort of wish I was doing one now!

Thanks man :) and yeah, a lot of my friends have had a lot of issues with their cash. I wouldn't be but for an upsetting but sadly unavoidable chain of events.

And this is my standard response for those who are wasting everybody else's time by not reading :)

I think half the issue is your failure to plan your financial situation correctly, including factoring in how pants SFE are.

Do you not have a student overdraft?

I do have a student overdraft, which has unfortunately been used up, as I was really awful at managing money first and second year.

Right, I have to go guys, as I have a lecture followed by a tutorial, but before you post please read my above post stating that I am now sorted, and that this thread was mainly a rant at student finance :) I don't want to waste anyone else's time, especially if they neglect to read and understand the thread before posting.

Then the issue doesn't really lay with SFE, it's about you failing to manage your money and that is why you are in this situation.

Either get a job to continue, sell things or soak it up.

SFE provided you with the basic amount and your University were correct, evidently it was spent too quickly.

I get pretty fed up with people going 'I have no money, waaaaa poor me!' when actually, it's their own fault.
