RIP Patrick Moore

RIP Sir Patrick Moore, legend of our generation. Always had a profound interest in anything astrological. My only wish is that space becomes a major thing in my life time.

Patrick will be turning in his grave if you use the term "astrological" (absolute tosh & nonsense) in the same sentence as his name!

Yes, space travel does seem to have stalled somewhat from what we had hoped :(

At least his funeral will be 100x more watchable than the bore fest that was the sky at night

I'm sorry what part of that was disrespectful.... True I am no fan of said show but at no point did I dis or even say a single bad word about the guy apart from the show he hosted was IMO a bore fest (and yes after a minute or two I did switch over)

I'm not one to shed tears over some celebrity that I have and will never know!

And I never opened the thread.... Or was it not obvious enough for you?

Some people just need to lighten up....

Your confusing Sir Patrick Moore 'celebrity' with some **** off the x factor who is a 'celebrity' .

Sir Patrick Moore was one of the greatest human beings to have lived, his contribution and commitment to his interest area is unmatched - he was brilliant.

And what part was 'disrespectful' ? Are you mad? have you read the tone of your STUPID comment ?

I risk getting banned for a few days for this post, but im still posting it, I feel it my duty to put ***** like you back in your box so you can play in your own little world and talk utter rubbish as much as you like.

Now get your life together and give respect where it is due, don't make stupid insulting comments and have some respect for the recently deceased.

Very old school friend of mine ended up working with him, wrote a book with and is one of the presenters on Sky at Night, I don't think the show will stop.

He said there's still one more show that's not been aired hosted by Moore.

You come into a thread about an individual you clearly have little or no interest in, who was famous in a field you clearly have little or not interest in, to make a remark that clearly no one in the thread will appreciate.

You're either an idiot or a troll.

Sheesh!

Sheesh!

I'm still struggling to see the error in my comment, did I mention even for a second anything to do with him personally.
This forum is wound so tight it's laughable how easy it is to upset someone with even the smallest comment.

I'm not apologising for my comment and if you think I'm an idiot or a troll so be it, some tiny man sitting behind a keyboard trying to stand for all the good in the world is by far the least of my worries. I'm not the one trashing this thread it's all the omg you can't say that warriors doing all the damage keeping this at the forefront.

The next show will surely be a tribute to him. Can't see any prerecorded material being used after his death?

I'm only going on his comment 'There is still a Patrick-led Sky at Night in the can on Mercury & the Moon so we haven't seen the last of him yet! So sad that's it, though'

Have just ordered my Patrick Moore Yearbook for 2013, I have all of mine since 1985, now this is the last we'll ever have as well :(

My first astronomy book was this...

I'll only reply to you once.

You've now posted a number of times in a thread about the death an individual who was pretty much universally appreciated and looked fondly upon. You'd be hard pushed to find anyone saying anything other than positive things about the man. Within this thread people are sharing grief and pleasantries about the man.

In you come, (a) with a single (unnecessary) comment suggesting his TV show is not only boring, but that his funeral will be more fun? (b) not make a single comment more befitting this thread. ie: A pleasant word about the individual in question.

But carry on arguing your corner and harking on about yourself in a thread commemorating the life of someone. You've clearly got your priorities right.

I regularly bump in to some of the other presenters from the Sky at Night.

It's a huge shame, he was a fantastic man who did so much for such a long time :)
