question about recruitment agencies

The agency I am planning to sign up to offers 2 ways of paying you...normal PAYE and umbrella PAYE, there is a fixed fee they charge using umbrella, would they still charge me that fee on weeks I don't work at all?

that depends on the accountant you'll use. they are all slightly different :)
 
No, umbrellas will (or should) only charge you for the weeks you bill for. That said, if you only work one day in a given week, they'll charge you the same weekly processing fee as 5 days.

Go with an umbrella over getting paid directly by the agent to increase your take home pay. I recommend JSAgroup.co.uk.
