What are your adult "blind spots"

Dont forget they also call the word Derby as Durby unlike the brits who call it Darby:p

Stuff like Router, Brits call rooter and they would say rowter, tomatoes where Brits call it Tomahhtoes and they call it tomaytoes:p

Plenty of other words that the Americans/Canadians pronounce differently, i should know seeing as i lived in Canada for 20 odd yrs of my life:p

Yes, Americans pronounce a lot of words differently, that wasn't really what was funny about what my friend said though :p.

My girlfriend writes "as a pose" rather than "as opposed".

Lol, that's just dumb.

Not mine but something which i see all the time on forums is people saying "I could care less" instead of "I could not care less"

Don't know why it winds me up so much but there you go.

Yeah, that simply makes no sense in the context its usually said.

I get annoyed with things like this, you ask a question and people are like 'omg I can't beleive you didn't know that!'

If you haven't needed to know, or are only just attempting to educate yourself in a certain matter, everyone has to learn from somewhere or somehow, right?! There is no pre-programmed knowledge in our brain other than instinctual.

I used to think (when I was a kid) that a certain song was 'I am the Lord of the Damp Settee...."

:o

For years and years (probably 20) I though vivid meant weak always was confused when the kids advert came on with the slogan 'vivid imagination'

I think it was because vivid sounds like a weak word in its pronunciation.

Had this corker from the wife..

'escape goat' instead of scapegoat

When I asked her to explain the origin.

"Hmm, I guess it's from olden times where you would pass the blame. eg, you have eaten someone else's bread, then you blame it on the goat. Leaving you to make a quick escape"

The logic is there.. :D

I don't know if I'm pronouncing it wrong but I say Asus as a-sus. But on tv and the gadget show they say az-uz. Which is it as it's driving me nuts as I think it should be as I say it! :-)

I say Ace-us as well. I never realised iD was pronounced as a word, rather than 'I-D' until a thread on here a while ago, I still pronounce it as 'I-D' though as 'id' sounds stupid :p.

Yeah but I don't say it like that YouTube clip lol, I think the way they say it is stupid! I say it like a sus, with the sus sounding like suspect if you see what I mean. I guess I say it wrong then and have been for 31 years lol! My brother also says it like I do so I'm glad I'm not the only one

Pretty sure it is still ID.
I don't think I have ever been asked for my id, but I have been asked for my I D. :)

hit the roof = jumping to the roof (often is now sung in the office due to frequency of use :D)
whilst talking about putting some chicken in milk to cook it.
