Hi there, first of all I just wanna say I'm new here and I apologize if I'm not really allowed to post a thread here.

I have this system which I bought around a month ago:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-213-OE

I got it with 120GB SSD, the Sapphire HD 7850 2GB graphics card.

The machine is great, absolutely great. I bought it mainly for games and for my university work. Never had any problems apart from this one thing which has been getting on my nerves for weeks now.

Every now and again when I turn the PC, it will turn on for a few seconds, the processor fan lights up and starts too and then it all just turns off. It will do this around 2-4 times before actually booting or going into the BIOS.

I've read in the reviews that some people had this issue and they called up Overclockers Uk and the fix was really easy, but I still have not had a solution given to me.

My PC is set so that it never sleeps. I have removed the battery for 10 minutes, then put it back. I ran MEMSTEST86 and got no errors with the memory. When I load optimized settings in the BIOS it boots up with no problems at all ( probably because it's not overclocked I presume?).

In addition to that, some people said in their review that AHCI (I don't actually know what that is) had to be enabled and I followed these instructions which didn't really seem to help either:

At some point, my system's overclock dropped and I only got it back to 4.4 by loading the overclockers profile in the BIOS.

I genuinely do not know what else to do. Has anybody encountered this problem or something similar and are willing to provide me with a possible solution to it?

Does the overclocking need to be tweaked?

I really appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance.

Victor.

sounds like it might be unstable overclock ,but to be honest mate your post isn't written that clearly ,
are you saying it only boots into windows when you remove the overclock?
since its so new and they guarantee 4.4 on that rig its up to them(overclockers) to sort it not you

Hi, cheers for replying. It will boot into windows with the overclock at times with no problem at all. However, most of the time it will just keep turning on and off many times after I pressed the on button, before it actually booting into windows which is really frustrating.

Thanks for the reply.

I called up Overclockers and they told me to run the system for about 24 without the overclock and it has been fine. Hopefully they'll provide me with slightly different overclocking settings so that my system becomes stable with the overclock.

thats good ,at least its only badly overclocked not a hardware issue .i wander what testing was done before sending it to you ? because a bad overclock should have been picked up before .
good luck and keep us updated

Cheers mate, I would assume not too much testing was done as I ordered my machine on a Tuesday and got it on a Saturday morning.

Thanks

Still get the exact same problem, system keeps resetting when I try to turn it on. Doesn't boot until it has reset about 10 times and I've gone into the BIOS to load a profile.

Overclockers have not been helpful at all. They've given me a couple of different settings to try but nothing. Same problem.

What really annoys me is the fact that apparently a few people had the exact same problem and it was fixed in about 5 minutes by calling Overclockers.

This has gone on for way too long now.

It definitely sounds like an unstable overclock. OCUK is one of, if not the best for support in this kind of issue.

They should find settings that will enable you to run the system as advertised, else I'd suspect they will need to take it in for possible repair/replacement.
