hi all

ive had this card for a few days and to start with all was good but when i turn my pc on now i have to reload the drivers all the time as i cant get any sound out of the headphones or speakers.

all the bars are going up and down on the equalizer and in the windows settings there just seems to be no output

the drivers are the latest from asus is there any better ones

I'm guessing you have the settings right, otherwise you would have had no sound at all. It's possible there is some issue with the drivers. You could try Brainbit's Unified Xonar drivers, see if they help.

yes thanks for that ive just found them somewhere else and for now it seems to have solved the problem.

thanks

Asus drivers are pretty good, but then I'm bound to say that as I have never had an issue with Asus drivers with the three Xonar cards I've had. Some people find they are terrible. Brainbit's modified drivers solve a lot issues for people.

yep ive tried all that and its working again but it always seems to go after a shutdown

yuep soon as i turn pc off it wont do sound anymore

yes i could try it in a diiferent pc.

its all ok if i justput pc in sleep mode or restart it.

it only happens when i power down

It's very unusual problem. Is it something as simple as a faulty power connector? Have you tried using a different floppy power cable?

all the graphic equalizer is working and it all clicks when you start up but just no sound you can install drivers again and not even do a restart and it works again.

there are others like it on the net but most have just changed drivers and it has worked again.

im a bit stumped it works great untill i turn it off

i may just never turn it off again lol

woooow calm down.

ive just tried it in another computer and all is fine so it cant be card.

i just put card back in my computer and let windows sort out drivers and it seems to have worked it uses something called oxygen hd?

ive turned pc on and off and all is good.

i havnt a clue but it works

Oxygen HD is the chip/s created by C-Media, which Asus used in the Xonar cards. You can get modified drivers which allow you to use C-Media's control panel, rather than the Asus one. Possible Windows installed C-Media's drivers.

Forgot to ask this before, are you using Windows 8?

no im using win 7 64

put the brainbit uni drivers on and it #s back to losing sound again.

i tried the windows thing again and now it says it cant find any drivers to install??

Ensure the HDMI audio out on your graphics card is disabled? Nvidia ones sometimes cause problems.

ive put oxygen driver back on for now and it is ok again.

ill turn amd hdmi thingy off.

its a right pain cos i cant even sell on really as i suppose it dont work proper or may not work proper on someone elses machine.

booooooooooo

I wouldn't worry about selling it on. It's not the card. If it were, you'd have had the same trouble in a different PC. Likely a conflict with your system somewhere.
