***The Official Nokia Lumia 920 Thread***

Just to let you guys know that the first batch of 20 x Nokia Lumia 920 codes have come in and worked fine.

The network chosen was EE and most were bought from Phones4U.

Note that Lumia Codes/Unlock Pins are 20 digits long and not the usual 15 so if you buy elsewhere and get a standard EE/Orange/Tmobile calculated Nokia code, this will not work.

Anyone got a decent case/cover for the Lumia 920 yet? I gave my girlfriend my Lumia 920 from BUILD conference as an early Chrimbo present, now looking to get her a case for it on the (Christmas) day.

Hi Jason, i had my 920 unlocked for £30 from fonefunshop.co.uk and it took 5 days for the 20 digit code to come. i was wondering if unlock frog are still charging £54 and estimating 2 weeks?
 
some people were posting about the live battery tile not updating. the answer to this i just found out, is the windows phone os doesn't allow realtime tile updating yet, so most of the live tiles refresh only every 30 minutes or so

This makes sense as to with what I have been seeing, if I dont use if for a while it seems to refresh as it should, but if I am using it a lot (as i have been for the past 2 days now) it doesnt update unless I open the app.

Hopefully there will be an update that will allow for live tile updating then!

AFAIK, that's not possible. There's isn't exactly a file explorer on WP8, so no, you'll not be able to open or find it. I'm surprised it was even transferred.

Have you tried connecting to a PC and check different folders, to see if it's ended up somewhere? I'd try the Doc folder in the phone...

I think Egon has the same case as myself. We're both pleased with it. I got mine from eBay, £5, 'Sandblasted' finished. Very nice to grip, tight/flushed fitting without adding too much more to the phone nor take away it's overall aesthetic - may even add to it IMO.

I must have been one of those 20 then! Code received this afternoon. Just a note, the old #pw+x+7# isn't necessary, or possible (you can't get p or w up using *). It seems you have to put a disallowed SIM in, then when prompted for a code, stick just the x part of the above (IE the code itself).

Hi Dane4188, I have placed order for the unlock code through them as well, but they provided me with alphanumeric characters, which I cant enter through the numeric keypad that is displayed during the unlock process. Was your code alphanumeric or just 8 numbers. I filed a ticket in regards to thing yesterday, and they said they will look into it.

the code came in the email like this... #pw+********************+7#

i used the 20 digit number starred in the middle. the other alpha numerics is for other nokia non lumia phones. i think the the email is a template or automated from funfoneshop and thats why it comes with the alpha numerics. just use the 20 digit pin in the middle and it will work

lol yes indeed. when i first dialed using full volume.it definably gave me a shock.but like you said even at half volume it is wuite loud..so i guess the lumia 920 does have a really good speaker :q

Yep I got the Rock case. Lovely bit of kit. Agree with what Mr. Jones has said really, it looks the part and has a quality feel to it.

Excellent for £5, expect to wait 2 weeks for delivery from Hong Kong though.

Chaps. I've seen the posts earlier about cases but i could do with some help. I don't need a case that complements the phone and looks good, i need a case that protects the phone as much as possible as my daughter loves kids corner but is a little too cavalier with the phone! While she has hold of it i want it as bombproof as possible. Can anyone assist if they have bought something similar.
