hey

next month ill be getting a set of speakers :) i want an all around system that would be punchy on the bass and loud at the same time, i only listen to music and movies! i do very little gaming so im not that bothered :)

i looked around and i think it might be worth going for a 2.0 setup this time if they have enough bass :)

looked at solo 6c/7c and was wondering is 7c worth the extra price/space over 6c?

i've got a budget of a 100-120 max! any recommendations?

Either the 6c or 7c will be a good choice. It's an interesting question though. I'm not sure many will have used both though, save maybe OcUK employees.

yeah but im a bit worried about the punch/bass from them :/ anyone who has a 2.0 system can comment on it?

If your looking for punchy bass then 2.0 speakers aren't going to give as good results at a 2.1 set.

I've been using the Edifier R1600Ts a lot lately for music and movies and love the sound quality on them but the bass is more balanced than punchy but if the 1900s are anything like it they'd be pretty decent for movies and music.

i know! but at the same time will i actually notice the lack of bass? i mean my current sub is 14w and that is enough for me :)

really having a hard time choosing.. thinking of just getting a more expensive 2.1 set and thats it! 100quid budget is very hard to work with.

The R1900's do go a good 10hz lower, and the bass dial doesn't intrude on the lower mids as much as they do on the r1600's.

Get the 6c's if you're worried, as they will definitely put out more bass (much cleaner, too) than the X240's. The 7c's aren't worth the extra space IMO, they just go a little louder.

Both 6c and 7c use 6.5" woofers, which is the same size as a lot of cheaper 2.1 subwoofers. That isn't to say they will be as bassy as a subwoofer of the same size, because subwoofers only deal with the low frequencies. The woofers in the 6c/7c speakers also deal with mid range as well. Shouldn't be that far off though, but crucially the quality of bass will be certainly better.
