North Korea has defied international warnings with an apparently successful launch of a long-range rocket.

The rocket, launched at 09:49 local time (00:49 GMT), appears to have followed its planned trajectory, with stages falling in expected areas.

North Korea says a satellite has been placed in orbit; the US confirmed an object had been put into space.

South Korea, the US and Japan have condemned the launch as a disguised test of long-range missile technology.

The United Nations - as well as China - say the launch is in breach of Security Council resolutions banning Pyongyang from ballistic missile tests, and that it should not have gone ahead.

So... weather satellite or disguised missile test?

The US have confirmed an object has been put into space...

So what's to doubt? Surely if they wanted to fuel a war they would deny this.

HHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Is all im saying ;)

It's also funny NK take years to launch something and the US can just do it at will, seems to be a political statement, like the US are saying, back in your box NK,lol.

The X-37B's last flight was basically following the chinese space station around for a year as well!

Lol, I had to laugh when I seen the BBC report on this this morning, the video footage of the North Korean News reporter looked like it was shot in the 1980s so I cant image the satellite is very technologically advanced as they dont appear to have even mastered any sort of High res filming equipment.
