From what I've heard, the BMW warranty is really good. I don't know the types of bills an M3 will likely through but I can't imagine them being cheap.

How much does it jump to after 60k?

the first tank of fuel was gone after 230miles. however this time around i am running at around 28mpg so looking at 300+

Hmm interesting. Ive got a e36 318is.. Get about 350 average a tank.

///M tax is pretty steep you know, there's a large jump in running costs between a non-M and and M car. More so on a 46 than a 36 I'd say.

can you get a contribution towards new wheels rathe than a refurb? no matter where you have them done these wheels never last once refurbed

Yes its worth that. Total peace of mind.

Also make sure the wheel refurb is done proprely, most places wreck it as they can't replicate the diamond cut finish.

My Mondeo ST220 had diamond cut alloys and I was advised against having them redone when I got mine refurbished as they wouldn't last very long. I went for a standard finish which was a good move in hindsight.

they don't last, the laquer chips and they you get white corrosion behind the laquer, some places claim to be able to do them but I have never heard of a set lasting over a few months

I gave up in the end and put CSL wheels on mine
