Duchess of Cambridge's nurse has reportedly been found dead

if the station had empathy and respect they would not have broadcast the call.

I don't think you've quite grasped the concept of a practical joke. ;)

Are you saying that you have evidence that there was something else wrong in her life?

What NO ..didn't think so.

To the contrary, I think the very fact that she committed suicide over something so trivial proves that there was something wrong with her life, even if it was just a tendency to dramatically overreact.

Can’t see why the radio presenters are getting so much heat, stupid woman kills herself over virtually nothing of significance. “Royals” are just as much to blame and so are our press.

Indeed - following the "logic" from some of the posters in this thread, if whats'erface hadn't gotten up the duff, none of this would have happened, so ultimately it's all her fault.

I'm surprised no one has considered the fact that maybe it was all a clever plot by the nurse in order to provide for her family by sacrificing herself; after all, they've just been given a huge amount of money that would have taken her decades to earn otherwise.

Enlighten me..

Your implication is that the call was the sole cause of her death, and therefore that the DJs are guilty. The burden of proof is on you to show that there were no underlying causes.

In criminal law, the burden of proof is "beyond reasonable doubt". Given that most people appear to believe that suicide is a huge overreaction to the prank call, there is a great deal of reasonable doubt that the DJs were to blame.

There is no evidence to suggest other wise is there? if there was then ok.

Mind you there are a lot of doctors and psychologists in this forum.

You're missing the point. When accusing somebody of a crime - which is what you are doing - the burden on proof is on the accuser, not the accused.

In short, if you're going to accuse somebody of a crime, have some evidence that they've committed it. At the moment all you can say is that the nurse killed herself after the prank call, which is correlation but not causation.

Are you saying that you have evidence that the call had any influence on her choosing to take her own life?

What NO ..didn't think so.

Phone call+takes life=evidence
No phone..no take life= :)

And with the radio station paying $500,000 to the familt that is guilt money.

I get a phonecall. The next day, I fall over dead. Did the call cause it? Was the caller guilty of killing me?

How do you know that your second statement is correct?

Can you prove the second statement? That if there had been no phone call she would still be alive? Without being able to do that all we have are 2 events that may or not be related.

And by your logic, everyone who donates money to charity is personally responsible for killing endangered species, causing earthquakes in India, killing people's parents giving people cancer and kicking young kids out on the street.

WHAT..are you ok? make a new post there are plenty of doctors\psychologists here that will help guide you to happiness :)

The point is that you have no idea whether or not the call contributed to her death. She may have killed herself anyway.

You've also backed up another point against you, which is that it was the call's publicity, not the call itself, which may have contributed to her death. That wasn't the fault of the DJs but of their employers, and of the British media.

Oh hold on you didn't kill you self you fell over drunk again :D

Huh?

When they release the details of her suicide note we will know either way.

In part, yes. We'll know where she attributes blame.

But I could blame you for me being in an awful mood now, and go home and kill myself. Would you be guilty of killing me?
