Why do manufacturers do this! Just as HTC see the light, Oppo heads away from it.

The new Find 5 has pretty amazing specs, S4 Pro, 2GB RAM, HD Dirac audio with tuned earphones, 1080p 441ppi 5" screen, 2500mAh battery but has only 16GB of storage?

Why would you put HD A/V on a device and then limit how much stuff can be stored on it!

Yeah I was looking at that device this morning aswell, having a good DAC and screen in a device then having such a little amount of storage is pointless, when using Android I store all my music/video on a 64GB sd card for all my lossless music/tv content etc. Well not all I delete old and keep new/ music I can always listen to.

This is a pointless device, I would only be able to keep like 10 albums, and then some apps. When some games have to download a gig in addons aswell.

It's not even LTE so it's not like they can make do with high speed cloud storage in that region, unless I've missed something in the details given!

new htc? how can they mess something this obvious up? i mean im ok with 16gb but i understand how people would be annoyed with it

The sim free price is low enough to import and still be cheap after any import tax. If anyone does get one, post feedback!

Never heard of this brand until now............ :o

Looks really good though! Camera sounds great, lets hope that the slow motion recording is HD, unfortunately with the HTC one series it is limited to 768x432 and iirc the GS 3/note II is limited to 640 x 480, in order to achieve 120FPS :(

16GB isn't a problem for me and no need for 4G either as 3G is more than good enough IMO

Same screen as the DNA/butterfly too

Just hope that their software skin and support/update procedure doesn't suck.........

Engadget 5 hands on:

No import duty on mobiles iirc just VAT.

Sim free price: $499.99

Shipping: Est. $50.00

Total Cost: $550 @ 1.55 to the pound = £355

Import Vat @ 20% = £71

Total Cost = £426

Think I'll end up doing it :p Need to wait for US suppliers with international shipping to pop up then shift the nexus 4.

Most probably not but it gives two things:

1: Bragging rights :p
2: Being able to view photos with finer detail than a 720p screen. That 441ppi will lend itself well to 1080p so stuff will look sharper.

So far the majority of HTC DNA users have said they can definitely tell the difference especially when browsing, no need to zoom in to read text comfortably now (even the small text) and that you can't see the individual pixels even when trying to look for them. The review sites have said that the display is just phenomenal and that you have to see it for yourself in order to see just how good it is.

Here are some photos comparing the DNA screen to others (supposedly the oppo 5 uses the same screen as the DNA)

EDIT:

Also means you get more stuff fitted on the screen (real screen estate space), so it will be superb for browsing

How will that help for browsing on such a small screen, how small is the text going to be?!

The screen is pretty big for a phone, 5"

You know all those times where you have small text on websites that you browse i.e. big news titles but smaller text and you have to zoom in order to read it comfortably, well with 1080P you won't have to zoom in as much, if at all (text will still be too small probably, but at least this time you can actually read it due to it being smoother/clearer looking)

Essentially you are just going to get an incredibly clear screen for everything. Videos and photos will have more detail to them.

I guess you will just have to wait and see the screen for yourself and have it side by side with the one X etc. to notice the differences.

Another comparison:

The above just shows theirs not that much in it, its looking like bigger numbers for the sake of bigger numbers. Theirs no way your eyes are picking up anywhere enough details in such a small area you are going to be able to see anything of that detail, just looks utterly pointless IMO.

Really?

I can see a massive difference in all the photos so far.

Although obviously, these are super up close so the difference won't be as noticeable straight away etc.

But going by all the DNA users opinions and expert reviews so far, the 1080P res. does sound superb, the fact that many of them have said they can't see the pixels even if they try to look for it speaks for itself IMO (I can clearly see the pixels on the iphone 5, one X etc. if I really want to look for it)
